Omg!!! Swapping Disks!! Is It Actualy Possable!?

I have the latest version of WinUAE.. All the Kickstart ROMS ever made (paid for of couse).. Downloaded and unpacked the game 'alienbreed' into two 'adf' files (i am asuming these are disk1 and disk2).. in the 'floppy disk' tab i have identified the location of these files in two of the four avalible drives.. So why OH WHY am seeing a 'insert disk 2' screen, that i cant get past.. even after hours of tinkering! please help, before i go nut :-(

Alien Breed is one of a number of games that only supports the first disk drive (DF0) so simply replace disk1 with disk2 in the first slot.

Try pressing "F12" and load disk 2 into "DF0" see if that works

Iv pressed 'f12'.. wiped the DF0 (disk1 location) and inputted the disk 2 location.. but then what do i do.. there is no 'load disk' button to press.. just the 'ok' button.. but when i press that.. nothing happens.. iv still got the 'insert disk 2' screen. Could you talk me through the procedure you would use if you had a game with 2 disks.. as if u where explaining it to a TOTAL greener then grass noob.

...or my favourite shortcuts:

<End> + <F1>: eject DF0: and bring up disk insertion dialogue box *thingie*
<End> + <F2>: eject DF1: and bring up disk insertion dialogue box *thingie*
<End> + <F3>: eject DF2: and bring up disk insertion dialogue box *thingie*
<End> + <F4>: eject DF3: and bring up disk insertion dialogue box *thingie*

Oh, and welcome to EAB

Really, that's very weird...

Where did you get you .ADF's from? Maybe disk 2 is corrupt???

Well, I could if you like but I'm more interested in where you got these files from as maybe they are corrupt...
Upload to The Zone! if you must and I'll give 'em a try

BTW, you can get loads of Amiga games from here: Amiga > Commodore Amiga - Games - ADF (0.29)

Sorry, deleted my post as I re-read your initial post and you did say that you unpacked the file...

Hmmm, guess they should be cool

Personally I use these .ADF files:

... Alien Breed (1991)(Team 17)(Disk 1 of 3)(Story Disk).adf (not that you need this)
... Alien Breed (1991)(Team 17)[cr SKR][t +11 Supplex](Disk 2 of 3)(Game Disk 1)[bootable].adf
... Alien Breed (1991)(Team 17)[cr SKR][t +11 Supplex](Disk 3 of 3)(Game Disk 2).adf

Give those a try and see what happens

You shouldnt have to unpack them, They should play in zip format.

I have never unpacked an ADF from ZIP. Just select the zip file in winuae

as simple as that solution is.. i dont think it works for me.. unless my mouse dosnt work as a 'fire' button.. is there a keyboard alternative.. do i have to configure my input devices in the UAE program for it to work.. i assume my 'fire' button does work, because i had to click the mouse to get past the cheat screen..

no it's not the same it wait a joy fire not a mouse click you must change the input options look in winuae menu.
go to the input option choose configuration #1 then select button 0 and choose a key by exemple
