Kipper2k 8MB+IDE Installation Guide
It's not hard, but I wanted there to be a proper installation guide with pictures and details for those who are rusty and are coming back to Amiga 500 to put it to good use
![]() Also compares it to ACA500 and explains why the Kipper2k board is good for coders. |

Cooliez, now we just have to be able to purchase the boards to go with the guide!
![]() Anyone know how Kipper2k is going? |

You sure that's right? I have sent about a dozen emails over the past 3 months and have not received a single reply. This is quite troubling...

A death in his family meant a trip from Canada to the UK and back. Try again now?

Yessum, I know - I heard about his misfortune at the beginning. However I have emailed him several times over the past 3 weeks and still no reply.

Hi there. Sorry, I did not receive any responses to my numerous emails - perhaps the problem is at my end.
![]() When did you last reply to one of my emails? |

I will email you again right now please let me know, or better still reply to it, if/when you receive it.
I am using the email address listed on your website - kipper2k@shaw.ca - if you don't receive this email by the time you read this please check your spam/delete folder. Thanks. |

Your guide is missing details about the soldering Part. Where to solder what and how to connect.
Also, if i have a kickstart hardware switcher, will it still fit? |

I do have pictures on my website that show where the 2 pin header needs to connect. If the kickstart switcher sits higher than the original Rom chip the A508IDE board may not sit right. I am in the process of making a low profile rom switcher (programmable, outside the box) that will sit in a different location that does not interfere with this board. If all is good it will hold 4 x 512k roms. (It's on the list) |

There is about 3mm space between a normal ROM chip and the board. I don't know any kickstart switchers that add <= 3mm to the height. This means you will need another 2.54mm riser, which in turn means the RAM board will hit the keyboard and then the case will not close. |

Hi Photon. On your Website Part 4 only mentions to solder it on the Mainboard but I do not see anywhere what Pins to put where (?)
It is on kipper2k's site though. |
