PC-Task

Hi there guys.

I was wondering if somebody could drop in the zone a full version of PC-Task 3.1...

I've got a couple of adf's containing that version, but whenever i do run the program and try to boot from a floppy i always get a warn message telling me the program is corrupt or something. As a result, it doesn't work at all.

I've tried with v4.3 demo, and it definitelly boots up, but as long as it's a demo i can't write or work with it.

I hope i'll have luck and somebody could drop it.

I have the full version of PC-Task 3.1. I'll upload it to the Zone for you tomorrow if no-one else has done so by then.

You can find PC-Task 4.4 on the EAB file server (http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=43633) in the folder 'The Zone!/P' (PCTask44.lzx and PCX_Crackpatcher.lzx).

However, prowler if you don't mind i would like to have the 3.1 version either, so i hope you will be able to upload it. Thank you again guys.

By the way: I've tried to create a virtual HD file using the PCT4.4 version i've just downloaded, and when i mount it and try to access the virtual hd i always get an error message, i can't format it either... Why is this so?

did you boot from a dos-disk? if so, use fdisk command, partitioning the virtual-hdd first. then you can format it.

Hit, i thought when you create a diskfile using PCTask, it was an already formatted file.
But you're right, it's just an empty file that has to be partitioned first. Thanks for the clue.

I'll copy all the stuff to the 1200 now, i've been testing under UAE.

OK tested and working, i've created an small image drive, and i managed to make it boot by itself. Tried a couple of CGA games and such. However i have a couple of questions.

-Didn't have PC-Task Adlib emulation? If so, how could i enable it?
-How can i transfer files between PC-Task and the Amiga, only using the floppy drive?
-PCTask 4.4 still gives me an error when it jumps from text mode to gfx mode..."Couldn't open screen" or something similar.

there is another emu, PCX: Feature -> SoundBlaster-Emulation (Mono)

Thank you for the link Hit, it's useful bec i didn't know the purpose for these utils included in the PCTask folder.

I've uploaded PCX 2.1 Demo version to the Zone for you.

This is the Demo version that the PCX_Crackpatcher.lzx file from the EAB File Server was designed to unlock.

Hey guys, sorry to bump a 5 month old thread.... but any chance of someone uploading PCX 1.1 to the Zone again? I have tried the 2.1 demo with the crack patcher, but it destroys the GUI and then crashes (without the crack patcher it is fine).

Also, I am confused... from whart I can tell, PCX 1.1 was the last released version... but then why is there a 2.1 demo?! Was the 2.1 demo the same version as 1.1 full release?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

added pcx 1.1 and 1.1f (maybe the same - not sure) - 2.1 was only available as a demo, AFAIK - adding some more features to the emulation. but cant recall any details.
