Unhappy ImageFX

Hi everyone!

I'm moving (slowly) my apps and stuff from a Pegasos II running MorphOS to a WinUAE installation, since I am working on a rotation job (3 months deployed and 2 weeks back home)... Hence I can't use my Pegasos, since I have no place to put it back home (small place, since I'm never there) and I can't take it with me on deployment either...

I have managed, in the last days, to get WinUAE working like it should, and to have a working 3.9 installation... However, I copied ImageFX and got it to work, but when I click on "Open" to open a new image nothing happens... I guess that some lib or something is missing, but I get no error. Anyone knows what might be going wrong?

Thanks!

Might be some datatypes missing. Run SnoopDOS and check the results, you should find the culprit easily then.

If you're not getting the file requester, it's probably a case of not having copied over the relevant libraries. Really you should install ImageFX properly instead of simply copying the directory across, but as was said, SnoopDOS should tell you where it's failing. My guess would be Reqtools.library or something similar.

It is not necessary to install enough to have the required libraries and fonts, you can see the ImageFX requirements from my screenshot.

Thanks a lot, everyone!

Typically I would have installed it from the CD, but it is in a box somewhere where I have stored all my stuff... So basically unreachable.

It turned out that 2 libraries are missing: magic.library and thumbnail.library
I got it up and running by changing the loader preference from "thumbnail" to ASL, but it would be appreciated if anyone could point me in the right direction about where to find the missing libs...

magic.library and thumbnail.library they are internal libraries of ImageFX, check if you have the right libraries, use snoopdos to detect anomalies

I put thumbnail.library_v38.0.lha in the zone.
magic.library I dont have in my libs: folder.
it's some kind of data-sharing thing, between some apps, supporting this "magic server"
I did never use it, possible it is some kind of virtual lib, which will be created upon start of the magic server.

how to access the zone.
once you did join the zone group, the link to it is next to the logout button.

@Winterjaeger
verify that you have in the folder of ImageFX file "Default.prefs", without this file request does not work !

@zipper
Winterjaeger using OS 3.9, i have tested ImageFX also with OS 3.9 Standard (without adding libraries) and ImageFX starts perfectly !

above he wrote, it did work with changing in Prefs from thumbnail to ASL requester.
but I guess he wanted to have the better looking thumbnail version of the file requester.
which seems to work now
