Finally! Resolved two of my longest standing issues!!!

So what have you solved that was bugging you for the longest time? (lets keep it Amiga related)

Well here's mine

And its two things this weekend, so very productive I'd say

Firstly I have the worlds fussiest LCD TV when it comes to VGA input, when creating Picasso screen modes you must get the Horizontal/Vertical syncs exactly right or its 'out of range' this TV is such an arse that not even an Indivision ECS works with it

So I've never since having these RTG setups got above 800x600 no matter what I tried the I would never get the two (H&V sync) to be in sync.

But yesterday I tried the 48khz (previously used 31khz) screen modes and now I finally have 1024x768 which is the maximum for this little 17in TV. But this is at the expense of 800x600 for some reason that only works on the 31khz modes But I got 320x240 and 640x480 working so I'm all set for the Warp3D and other games. All in all very happy as workbench is much better in 1024x768, maybe one day if I'll work out how to get the widescreen mode (only one supported by this TV is 1280x768) going

Its just the TV being fussy though, these all work on a proper monitor. I just love this TV for its RGB Scart input too much to replace it!

My other achievement this weekend was finally getting PCI LAN going on the Mediator, tried several cards in the past without success so had all but given up till I took a 99p ebay gamble on a realtek 8139D and would you Adam and Eve it! It only fricken works

Unlike my PCMCIA card Miami does not auto detect DNS settings so I had to get them all and enter manually but she's up and running now so that combines with my new workbench settings makes me a very happy chappy.

I hope you guys all had similar success this weekend

Steve.

I'm really glad you solved those 2 issues El'Steavo my friend
I was pretty sure that your LCD would play in it's native resolution after a little bit of tinkering. I've been telling it all this time!

I really got a success as well, after re-making my A1200D PPC from scratch.

This weekend was full of win

The modes do not depend on each other so you can happily create a 31 kHz mode into your list of 48 kHz modes. I think my modes list for my CRT had modes from 30 kHz to 78 kHz. But it may be tedious if the accepted mode window is narrow. Thanks god my BenQ accepts 44 to 51, 59 to 61 and 74 to 75 Hz refresh so it's not so difficult to hit the right kHz.

Yep, its 100% fine with my other screens which have a variable sync zone but this TV has to be exact i.e 800x600 = 37h & 59v and 1024x768 = 48h and 60v

If you choose the 31khz modes then there seems to be no option for 1024x768 at the required setting, it seems to be 50h/60v and thats out of sync.

On the 48khz modes I get a perfect 1024x768 but then there is no way to adjust 800x600 to 37&59

As I say with other screens that are more tolerant you wouldn't even have an issue, its just this screen

Just create a new mode, 800x600 at 60 Hz, fine tune it with pixel clock , arrow keys and was it control button - don't remember exactly. I created tens of custom modes from 320x200 to 1680x1050 - just need to tweak them using doublescan, interlaced and pixel clock to fit to the monitor specs.

Yeah I hear what your saying there but with new created modes the the H&V move on together adjusting pixel clock so I can't get them both in the right place if you know what I mean. Unless you can lock out one of them?

Only by using the differet default settings I can get them to work, but not both at the same time.

This is what I need to do, and it has to be pretty much exact:
