Smarty and the Nasty Gluttons

Mr Spiv managed to rescue an Amiga game that was never released and sadly never completed.

Mr Spiv:
Quote:
As a background, a long ago I worked on a game called Smarty and the Nasty Gluttons My

contribution was the boot up procedures, disk system, compression and a disk duplication system (i.e.

use stock Amiga to copy the master disk simultaneously up to four drives). The game got never released

due unfortunate events. With the permission of the current owner of the rights (many thanks Eero!) I

attempt to crack a playable game preview that I found from a box of old disks that used to belong to one

of the game lead developers and make a nice release out of it.

Very cool! I love it. Seems a bit hard but the graphics and music are really good.

Good graphic but gameplay is very poor or I miss some element. You need to paralyze with Your gun those green monsters and drop one on another one to get rid of them and get as fast as possible keys they drop.

Very hard but very good looking game

I found out you can skip levels with left mouse button There are only 6 levels?

Is the game trained? You don't have unlimited lives. But it seems that you have unlimited number of powerups.

quote from Mr Spiv
Quote:
Regarding the game it has two sets of playable levels (and bonus levels). You can fool around and shoot
those Nasty Gluttons as much as you want. However,
you cannot complete the game or even a single
level. To move from level to another, press the left mouse button. Once you have gone through all levels
you will be greeted that the dream is over and a reboot will follow.
I think it was put in by the developers in order to test later levels because the game play was not finished and there is no way to complete a level.
or maybe Mr Spiv added it, as I think he had several different protected disks (each with different stuff on) and the disk you can download is one he made out of those disks.

Despite what's said in the tutorial, it IS possible to finish levels. It is very difficult to get used to however!

1. Shoot the enemies so they curl up into balls
2. Roll the balls off the platform into other enemies below, killing both of them
3. This spawns a key, get the key before the enemies eat it
4. Repeat until you've got all of the keys to finish the dream

Also there are unlimited powerups, you can access them by holding down Fire until the shop appears:

Turbo: Allows you to kill enemies by dashing through them. Doesn't give you keys but does give you points
Earthquake: Knocks all enemies into balls
Super Bomb: Finishes the level
