Kickstart 3.1 problems
Sorry about the last thread I'm having trouble posting replays I can send a quick reply ok. Anyway I decided to upgrade my 3.0 kickstart to 3.1. I've changed the chips and they are working and fitted fine. The problems I'm having is that I've also upgraded workbench to 3.1. Transwrite on the workbench when I run it the screen goes blank and just flickers and I don't know why. Could it be files remaining from workbench 3.0. Also I've had trouble getting a few games to work. I loaded up jimmy whites whirlwind snooker and it crashes when you start to play a game of snooker. I've tried it on my other a1200 with the 3.1 chips and it does the same. I've tried relokick to get it into kickstart 1.3 and it still does the same thing. I also loaded up archie mcleans pool and that plays fine. Does anyone know what the problem is?

However, it sounds more like the Amiga is switching to NTSC (or PAL, depending on your machine) from another screenmode. Do you get any sound when you load the games, or does everything just stop? |

Another thing you might want to check is that any RAM simms you have installed in the machine are secure. I had a loose simm at one time, and it gave me the most bizarre behavior.

If you hear a high-pitched (but low on volume) squeal coming from your monitor's screen, it's a complete fuckup. I used to have these lock-ups from time to time.
You should of get an HD and use WHDLoad. I couldn't be bothered today to make old floppy disk games run in my expanded A1200. If it's not WHDLoaded, I don't play it. That simple. |
