Amiga Sprite/Tile Cross-Platform Software?
is there anything out there like this for Amiga?
EDIT - I should specify that I'm wanting to create sprites/tiles and not rip them http://www.coder.myby.co.uk/spritepad.htm Last edited by diablothe2nd; 21 May 2013 at 11:10. |

Well that couldn't have come at a more perfect time I've been googling for 2 hours now and not come across that! marvelous! Thank you for the heads up EDIT- wait, is this just a ripper or can i use it to create/edit sprites/tilemaps too? Sorry, I should've stated that i want to create maps more than rip them (although ripping is helpful while learning to make my own) Last edited by diablothe2nd; 21 May 2013 at 11:09. |

It's a ripper rather than an editor.

gimbal was working on one a while ago, but I think he has halted the project (for good?) Other than that there are a few specialised editors (made by Exl for example) for games, but I assume you're looking for a general one.

if the more "general" ones include ilbm/iff support then i'm open to ideas
i'm basically after any animated sprite(bob) and map tile software that also has animation support but in tiled form not like anim brush in dpaint, palette, and as a bonus some form of targeted settings (OCS/ECS/AGA) like that C64 editor i linked to has so i dont go and use too many colours for the hardware i'm aiming for etc. i'm quite proficient with GIMP but it's bloaty and arduous with layers and onion skinning etc then converting to tile sheets. I just saw that C64 editor and wondered if there was anything like it targeted for amiga |

just got Grafx2 working (corrupt config)... now THAT's what i'm talking about just saved me 50 quid too.
Tiled is awesome as well. now, how do i separate an anim created in Grafx into a tilesheet for me to use in Blitz Basic? |

the trick with tiled, save the maps as uncompressed/un encoded plain XML, then you can use anything to script them to binary (I have a ruby script that will create map images for me, meta out the object properties to lua code for embedding into my game engines).
