Amigakit have Workbench 1.3 disks in stock. Otherwise if you purchase Amiga Forever from Cloanto the Workbench ADF's are on the DVD.

Can you (or a friend) write an .adf file with any Amiga/s you might have there?

Yes; -= But they are the Colanto affairs. Duplicated under license. http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/...oducts_id=1236

You have an A500 there which has a 1.3 ROM chip in it. You are allowed to download .adf files of Workbench & write your own Disk's if you own the relevant ROM.

Yes there are some WB 1.3 disks on Ebay but not in NOS/mint condition and the prices are also

I don't mind to pay well but only for NOS!

I sincerely hope you'll find one, but at this point in time...
Most of those disk set came with system and have been used by the previous owner.

I don't even know anyone with 1.1 or 1.2 who bought an upgrade set since most just borrowed the 1.3 disk from someone who had bought a new A500 or A2000 and made a copy.

But, a big Good Luck to you and happy hunting.

With all respect fella, finding NOS 1.3 Disk's (which were an upgrade as Nosferax already said above) ....is indeed a tall order. So much so, you might find some Hen's Teeth along the way.

I can write you a disk & post it to you if cover the shipping cost. The 880k Disk is free.

You do realise that a NOS original disk and an ADF written to a brand new floppy are exactly the same thing right? As said you already have the ROM and original disk so there's no legal issue. In fact a recent, verified ADF copy will likely be more reliable than a 25 year old original.

Are there 100% unmodified WB1.3.x ADFs out there?

At least all the ones in TOSEC are marked as modified in some way...

Wouldn't the ones in the Amiga Forever package be clean images?

A few months ago a brand new Amiga 500 went for sale here in the US for about $300. It had unopened manuals and disk envelopes. So I would think that is the only way to find NOS WB disks.

But as others have said, go for the Amiga Forever images and write them to a floppy.

The problem with floppies this old is that there is bound to be errors on the disks by now. I have found this to be true for many of my Amiga originals that i had in storage over the years including my full set of OS 2.1 disks as some disks now contain errors. That said it seems my C64 5.25" floppy disks have faired better as most still work without errors. I am not really sure why but in my experience the 3.5" disks do not last as long or are not as reliable as the 5.25. I have found this to be true with all platforms 3.5 disks.

Amiga Forever: it is a great deal to get the licensed disks and ROM images.

There is a small problem with the 1.3 AF disks, O.K. 2 problems.

1. They have been modified

2. ED doesn't work properly.

@jvidia

Couldn't you obtain an ADF image and write it back to your original 1.3 disk? Even if the disk surface is damaged, you can carefully open the old disk and insert a new magnetic inner.

I was not aware of either of these. How have they been modified? And what about ED doesn't work? I have used it on my AF 1.3 disk and didn't notice anything, but now you have me curious.

Edit: This page explains the improvements:

If I remember correctly ed throws an error if you use the AF disk on a real Amiga.

Then again I may be wrong, I have been before and no doubt I will be again.
