3000 fuse on mouse/joy port

I plugged a naughty (serial) cable into the joystick port and my Mindlight7 tonight on my 3000, and now I've lost +5V on both mouse and joy ports, so on the 3000 I assume there is a shared fuse? Can anyone let me know where it is on the MB?

thanks in advance,

You're right that both mouse/joystick ports have a shared fuse on the 5v pin. It's F400 according to the schematics. Depending on the version of your motherboard, the location varies a bit but generally it's near the two ports but positioned a little closer to the back of the machine than either port. There is also a ferrite bead in series with the fuse that could have blown as well (FB400) - worth checking that for continuity too.

Thank you very much. This will be going to my super-tech, but just wanted to get a bit of research done so he didn't have to do absolutely everything....

thanks!

Blew that "fuse" (looks more like a resistor) on my A3000 some time ago, soldered a holder in place and put in one of those glass fuses so I can easily swap it if it happens again.
