Amiga Plus CDs to upload to EAB Server
I recently acquired a collection of Amiga Plus magazine CD-ROMs from eBay to upload to the EAB File Server.
Amiga Plus seems to have been a German magazine published monthly with a coverdisk. Available separately was a companion CD-ROM, published bi-monthly, featuring a selection of the latest software, patches, etc. and a collection of these is what I have here. The collection is not complete, but comprises 18 issues published between March 1995 and August 1999. They are packaged in cardboard folders which are much damaged, so are not suitable for uploading as 'covers'. I received a 19th folder as a free gift without the disc. I have attached a text file describing the content of the March/April 1995 CD-ROM, based on the folder notes. If the structure of this file is okay, I will prepare a similar file for each disc and upload them with the disc images. Finally, I should mention that, although Amiga Plus was a German language magazine, a significant proportion of the discs' content is in English. Last edited by prowler; 11 August 2010 at 23:49. Great! I'll start uploading them shortly.
Perhaps they could go in the Magazine Cover Disks and CDs/CDs folder in a new subfolder. |

I'm uploading the first CD now.
This archive has taken the volume name of the CD, which was rather shorter than I was expecting. I may decide to rename it after I have seen what the other volume names are. The "Web Maintenance" will give me the chance to do that. |

Hi TCD,
I've uploaded four Amiga Plus CD images today and two text files. I'm happy with the filenames now. This way there will be no ambiguity when the later disc images are uploaded. |

Yes, they are! I have original copies of these two discs and the third one which is already on the Server. They are Schatztruhe titles, so I could upload some English/German readme files to go with them if you would like me to.

Just had a look in TOSEC and there are quite a few AMIGAplus CDs available Actually it seems like an awful lot If any special volume is required I could add it (or someone else that knows where to grab them ).

They would certainly be worth collecting for the server; they really are very interesting discs. I'll have a go at scanning one of the folders which is not too badly damaged and upload it. The folders contain listings of other issues' contents which might help in your search. This information is inside the folders, where there is little or no damage, so I could assemble quite a bit of useful information from them.
I'll try to get the rest of these uploaded a quickly as possible. I have 18 of them to upload, plus an extra folder with no CD, so it would be nice if I could get hold of that one in particular (Nr.6/96 - November/Dezember). |

Just a quick note, because I wrote a couple of articles for Amiga Plus magazine from 2001-2005 or so (can't remember it exactly).
When Amiga Plus magazine was discontinued, Andreas Magerl (ACP+TCP) took over all rights for it from the company which originally published the mag. This includes all rights, not only for the mag itself, but also for the CDs (as far as I can remember). You should be careful what you put online here from Amiga Plus magazine as you might have heard often enough here on EAB that Andreas tries to stop everything and everyone who is violating his rights. I don't know how much he changed his opinion in the last 2 or 3 years, so this post might be useless. But I think it's better to send out a warning before something more could happen. P.S.: I can't remember myself exactly, but I might have some CD ISO files from Amiga Plus magazine CDs in my collection, too, as well as from "Amiga Magazin", another popular German Amiga print mag (pm). |
