How to install drivers for X-Surf

Hi,

I am installing an X-Serf networking card in my 4000T. I dont have the install CD and cant find an install program. I downloaded the SANA drivers and MiamiDX.

What do I need to do to get this to work?

Do you have these files?:

Apparently, they don't need an installer. Just copy the contents of the archive(s) to the appropriate folders on your hard drive.

Thanks Prowler. I found the info in the readme.

When you open the readme in notepad on a pc you jest get text strung together. Is there a way to get the text formatted so its easy to read?

Yes, open it in WordPad, or open the lha archive with WinRAR, right-click on the readme file and select View File.

If DHCP doesn't resolve automatically you need to enter all the details manually. What TCP IP stack are you using? I recommend MiamiDX. It is included with Classic Workbench (look in the 'myfiles' drawer)

I havnt installed the TCPIP stack yet. Thats the next step. I may have to setup a 3.1 drive as people are telling me that the video toaster and 3.9 dont play well together.

You could try MiamiDX and follow my guide here:

Ignore the bits for Wifi Key and prism2 driver, you need to select the x-surf.device instead

It's what I used, IIRC DHCP resolved automatically with this hardware

Thanks, pretty simple for CWB3.9 but how do you install Miami DX for WB 3.1?

Just copy the installer to any version of workbench you like also all packs except classic workbench 3.9 are built on workbench 3.1 :-)

I'm pretty sure that MiamiDX has it's own installer - just create a MiamiDX folder and follow the installer instructions - I think you have to have mui installed... you need the main archive and the mui archive of MiamiDX - best have a read up of the readme files from the aminet downloads... you can find them on Aminet on this page...
