To give some background: We created UHC Tools as a simple way to keep a collection of tools between us two authors up-to-date. With time the collection grew and powerful things like the searchers (aminetsearch, fishsearch, whdsearch etc) was added and we thought that other people most certainly could benefit from it, so we released it publicly.
A few of the tools have made it to aminet (sntp and NoClick). Some of the best tools IMHO, like the searchers, depend on so many parts/tools in UHC Tools that it would not be be possible to release separately without a major redesign. Also, this would cut them away from the super-convenient update distribution via uhcupdate. Many tools though have an obvious use outside of UHC Tools, no dependencies on other parts/tools and are reasonably mature - for example aget and SynergyClient would make sense to release on aminet, but we have simply not come around to it. |

It now queries the Amiga keymap to see which of the backslash (0x0D) or right international key (0x2B) on the Amiga keyboard can be replaced by other keys or key combinations. It then maps the servers side right international key to the key which cannot be replaced on the Amiga, which should be backslash in your case. Please give it a try and see if it works for you. For more details, see the updated help. |

It works so that if it detects a backlog of mouse messages on the socket, it will combine them before sending a mouse update to input.device. This makes it more efficient to work through the backlog plus lessens the load on the Amiga during that. This also helps greatly to reduce latency (rubber band feeling) when doing things with the mouse which loads the Amiga, like scrolling a window by dragging the scollbar. Please test it and see if it works better. |

is it possible to add an option to "aminetsearch" to sort by date, im not sure what its default sort type is currently, but having the newest stuff at the top of the list would be nice. Only asking as i am making a little gui for myself atm which reads the results of aminetsearch and the gui is limited in use when i cant tell whats new and whats old.
quick snip of what i have so far. [ Show youtube player ] |

Really cool!
The order is the order of the aminet index file we use to create our internal index file, which is alphabetical on the complete path, if I don't remember wrong. Unfortunately, there is no date in the aminet index file, only an age in weeks, which tops out at 999 ~ 19.2 years. This column could be added though, I understand you do the sorting yourself anyway? |

another question, can/will the "aget" command support https at any point? tried to get my UHC gui to support other amiga/c64 related websites such as remix64/kwed/amigaremix but all their webpages redirect from http to https so i cant search those sites for files.

Anyway, I agree, it would not hurt to make aget support it for 020+. Also, you could always ask the remix site maintainer if he can offer http download for the files only. |

Hello guys
Ok I have downloaded and installed UHCTools on my Amiga OS 3.2.1 system. Is there anywhere any guide i can follow in order to use all those tools/scripts etc? Can't seem to find any. Is there any GUI available or not? Thanks |

We've talked about making a video showing some of the features and how to use them but haven't gotten around to it. For now we basically only have the webpage which has brief descriptions of everything - and there is a help system within UHCTools, you should be able to type help (or uhchelp depending on your OS) followed by any command found in UHC/C or UHC/S to get a description of what they are used for and how to use them.
There is no GUI available or planned at the moment. |

Jayminer & Patrik thanks a lot for your prompt replies. Will have a look at those links and help descriptions found in UCH and experiment.
Have a good day |

any feedback welcome, there;s "issues" here and there i'm slowly trying to iron out. Obviously UHC Tools needs to be installed correctly first and ofc you need a working internet connection on the amiga or emulated amiga. |

Ok I will give that a go as well Looks very interesting. I suppose UHC is properly installed and I can use all scripts and commands from cli. I would also be interested to know what the commands would be in order to add them in my Tools daemon menus. For example the "aminetrecent or aminetsearch and aminetextract". How would I tell the menu to open a cli run the command or add a requester to the command in order to specify which file to download. |

aminetrecent or aminetsearch <thingyouwant> a list of results show up in your shell/cli window, notice the numbers to the left of the listed entries? once you see what you want, remember the number to the left then just try aminetget <number> or aminetextract <number> get, gets whats listed direct, such as an lha archive/mod file or whatever, extract will do the same but attempt to extract the thing you download if its an archive of some kind such as lha/lzx. |

What I asked was different. I want to use those commands in ToolsDaemon menus. How would I tell ToolsDaemon to open a cli and use the specific command? Also how would I tell ToolsDaemon to bring up a requester so I can input the relevant number that I need to download? These are my questions |

There is a small CLI utility within UHCTools called AskMore that maybe could be used for what you are thinking of. You would have to make some scripts that could take a string using AskMore and then search for it, and another script that would take a number using AskMore for download/extraction.
I'm not sure how well this would work but I do believe it could be done without too much hassle. |
