In past I had PFS3 for a long time, but I was forced to made FFS partition for games which were working bad on PFS3. If You have possibility try to use ANY filesystem other than PFS. PFS have problems with compatibility with other FSes. It looks that even PC FAT32 is "more compatible" with driver. |

I also have no issues running the game from my PFS formatted partition, so that can't be the problem.

Try to run e.g. Fire + Ice from HDD without WHDLoad and tell me if that's working. This is one of games which had problems in past, and that time WHDLoad version was not even in plans. Maybe it's fixed in current version? So next idea popup... @Cammy What version of PFS are You using? |

@BSzili
Maybe you could give a shot porting Apogee's "Monster Bash"? Cheers! |

Just had a quick go of the SW version of that...
I like it --- but I need to remap the controls as Fire keeps bringing up a Status screen Last edited by Nobby_UK; 29 March 2023 at 17:39. |

I decided to go back and patch up these ports. If they ran poorly on your system, or didn't run at all, or you'd like like to test the new versions for whatever reason just drop me a PM.

The time has come, the new versions are live on Aminet. While it contains a lot of small bugfixes the main change is the performance. While the original port was struggling even on the fastest 68030 accelerators, the current version is playable on a 68020 at 28 MHz.
I also took the opportunity to fix the music tempo which was off due to a rounding error in the sound-convert program. The DOSBox OPL emulator was also replaced with Nuked OPL3. I recommend deleting the "adlib" drawer to let the sound converted render the sounds again. |

Really great job!
Today having the Vampire I no longer need these optimizations, but they were the last FPS played on my old Blizzard 030. Anyone who has a 030 I think will be very happy with this ... |

Thanks. Even on the Vampire you'll benefit from all the bugfixes I did along the way, the memory management was especially flaky before this overhaul.

Thank you! I will try the new versions asap. On my blizzard 1230 mk.IV even 1.3 wasn't running that bad and was playable, can't wait to try it.

This version should run at full speed on the card. A word of warning, as usual I managed to mess something up, so the Aliens of Gold patch-data program appears to be broken in 1.4. I'll look into this, but fortunately 2.10R is the most versionfor Aliens of Gold, so most people won't need to use the patcher.

I found the mouse sensitivity too slow even with fastest in-game setting. |

No ECS support currently, only AGA and RTG.
Could you try the mouse sensitivity with Shift (or run) key pressed? If that's fast enough I could add an always run key to Caps Lock for example. |

Great performance! Can you add modern FPS WASD controls so we can keyboard strafe with 1 key instead of 2 keys?
