HOWTO : Access the Interwebs from within an emulated WB *not using bsdsocket*

Tip to properly run

Miami and

any available 68k miggy web browser
from within an emulated WB is ready, but for starters I would appreciate a bit of encouragement since it could be considered a case of me illustrating an undocumented WinUAE feature.

OK, who is burning of the desire to achieve this ?
(If you have a Mac, don't bother replying)

Also, if your OS gets hit by a virus , I shouldn't be help responsible for it, get your kicks on this page in case you don't have any antivirus monitor running in the background.

1) make sure you have bsdsocket.library emulation turned on
2) make sure you can access the internet from Windows
3) start your browser in the emulated Amiga and browse

Why do it the hard way with Miami and an emulated SANA-II device?

Would a virus from the internet affect an Amiga at all? Even if it is emulated on a PC?
You can't really call this a 'howto' either, it is more like stating the bleedin' obvious...

Mr Jope has made a better guide above.

If it's an Amiga virus yes.

But the chances of getting an amiga virus from the net is so slim I really wouldn't bother worrying about it.

Only if it's an Amiga virus... Chances are there aren't any around these days.

Are you sure? I am really scared about getting a 20 year old virus, it might have mutated into something more dangerous.

Theoretically you could screw-up a PC with an Amiga virus:

-Point WinUAE @ C:/ so your Windows + Docs&Settings dirs are visible to AmigaOS.
-Be unlucky enough to catch a Amiga virus.
-Wait for the 'fun' to develop...

...of course that would probably qualify you for some kind of retro-Darwin Award.

I could write an elaborate guide to do it without an oven, but I'll need some encouragement first.

I'll need a private lab, an assistant (preferably an intelligent, young, attractive female), and about EUR 10000 of funding and I'll find out for you. Of course I'll also need an all expenses paid vacation for me and my assistant. Can't be expected to work all the time.
