What a crap is this! Everything in this game is against any logic and common sense. And the false curve signs are just outrageous!

Apart from the opening title screen being too big the game plays perfectly in NTSC mode. Fills the screen and is a bit smoother. Setting high sensitivity for Joystick control makes the gameplay better still. |

Is it allowed to change these settings in the compo? If yes, I will give it a try.

Despite the game having an over abundance of opponents making it essentially a dodge-em-up. It does have some redeeming features; A good sense of speed, listenable music, responsive controls and arcade like graphics. Think I'll enjoy this one Beginner: 438824 Junior: 616209 Senior: 709397 Expert: 878913 Total: 2,643,343 |

I think it was a sign of racers from late 80's/early 90's - you had to have false signs somewhere in the game!! I have yet to play this, but will check over my bike today ready for racing tomorrow |

Africa: 11.742.617 Still far away from my best of 24 mio for this track, however i didnt play this much in the past, because the other bikes hopping over the track are a bit unfair (compared to Lotus 1-3). |

Africa - 13,542,624 Asia - 4,501,705 America - 720,965 Europe - 709,844 The game is not as as good as I remember it.. but still I like it + Gfx, nice sensation of speed, memorable title music - jittery opponent bikes, cheap wrong way signs, horrible loading picture Took me ages to clear Asia! Havn't had a decent go at America & Europe yet |

@ mailman - yes NTSC mode is allowed and you are free to select sensitivity from the options menu. High gives the joystick player a fair chance but if you feel like going normal then thats up to you. User controlability options (like in No Second Prize) are up to the player. Also, a game can be played up to 10% faster than normal i.e. 60fps, e.g. NTSC mode.
As for the false turns, there was one in Lotus 1, and 2 in lotus 2 (fog and storm) and I think even Jag stooped to this level as well. Yes it was common in those days. I dont know if the arcade version did this and the Amiga conversion simply cloned what was already in the game. It only bares remembering where they are and then its a matter of not falling for the trap. |

Whatever skills I had that helped me win this round a few years ago will have to be re-learned. My first few goes were useless, although in the end I managed to string this together which is an ok score.
The trick to this game seems to me knowing when not to use throttle and turbo, and finding a way inbetween the bikes before and during corners. Africa: 21,342,897 |

This is great fun (except when the wibbly wobbly cpu opponents manage to steer right into me). I'll upload my best scores at the weekend

Not entirely, as you can see from the scoreboard, last time I did it with 28 seconds remaining, I remember being very pleased with it, it must have been close to perfect.

All your scores are impressive capehorn. Its worth mentioning that each second at the end gives 1M points. So by my reckoning every 0.1 will net 100k.
Lemon still leads the round. Last edited by lifeschool; 19 August 2014 at 18:31. |

I know I can go that little bit faster, but this is probably going to be my final score for Africa

By the way, if when you finish a track, it says you bonus in the middle of the screen, but it isn't added to your score immediately, take a screenshot there and then, because if you press fire, the game will 'forget' to add your bonus to your score and there'll be no record of it.
In the screenshot below, my score is 843,134, but it should read 26,743,134 because the bonus should have been added to it immediately after finishing the race. I had this last time we played and thankfully I noticed and screenshotted there an then and Graham accepted the score with bonus. I've only this happen a couple of times, but both were after very good scores and I would have lost them otherwise. |
