Cannon Fodder .exe file swap

Hello,

Ive been playing around with the Cannon Fodder Editor using my WHDload installed version.

One of its features allows editing the cannon.exe file to change some settings relating to the enemy movement speed and aggression. There is a modified cannon.exe included with the editor to swap in and allow this function.

I understand WHDload uses disk image files to operate. Is it possible to open one of these image files and swap the exe for another file?

Cannon Fodder actually uses real files not disk images.

The only way it will work is if the .exe you are using hasnt been resourced and recoded, changing the offsets for patching the loader, copy protection etc.

Compare the exe size to one on whddownload.com and see if itz the same size and swap it over, if it doesnt work, whdload will quit with an error.

Ive fixed it another way. The version on the ftp server allows the exe to be swapped in and out and is working as intended.
