Ok, what VGA mo0nitors can i use without a SD/FF just through a VGA adaptor?
Specifically what does the hirizontal and vertical frequency have to be? P.S I know there are old threads about this but its late and im lazy, sorry! |

You would want a VGA monitor which can handle as low as 50Hz (vertical), just in case you want to use it with a scandoubler/flicker fixer for PAL resolutions. That should handle anything apart from the A2024 modes (something like 30Hz which is rare for monitors to handle).
Horizontal frequency I'm not exactly sure, definitely at least as low as 31.5Khz (just in case you get a scandoubler/flicker fixer). Probably lower than that, at least as low as 30Khz. However I think some ECS modes need just under 30Khz (DblPAL and DblNTSC) so some 30Khz monitors may need the use of VGAOnly monitor driver to force the KHz up a bit. So a 30Khz monitor would be much better than 31.5Khz. To get a list of common ECS resolutions and their hor/ver frequencies: http://amiga.resource.cx/mod/a4000.html Note: To get all the old pal modes you know and love for games etc you need a multisync monitor capable of going as low as **15.5Khz** |
