PErformance on 68000 machines

I was thinking, there are a lot of games, like Zool 2, which suffer from extra slowdown when in WHDLoad form, compared to their floppy versions, because of blitter waits and faster processors (if i am not wrong).

Does this still happen on 68000 machines? I am thinking of getting one of kipper's 8MB RAM expansions, and wonder if this would still be a problem or not.

There are one or two slaves which suffer from this. Mainly the slave authors never tested on 7MHz 68000.

But if you contact the slave author they usually provide a fix in a few days.

Turrican III used to be one of the worst, the TFMX 7-channel intro used to stutter terribly. Reported it and Psygore fixed it!

zool 2 common version do not suffer slowdowns, zool 2 AGA yes
idem slowdowns suffer chaos engine AGA

that's not a problem of faster processors is a problem of bad whdload slaves
in the case you have an ECS machine you will not suffer slowdowns because those bugs affects only AGA games

Not true. The added blitter waits that are (most of the time) responsible for the slow-downs have nothing to do with the chipset.

Most of the patches should have been updated to skip these patches on 68000 machines by now anyway and if not, open a report on the Mantis bugtracker as alexh already said.

He's right, I have encountered games with such slowdowns.
Thanks for your answers guys.
