Sukko, I'm curious, do you find that this 8mb fastmem board fits with the 530? Are you using the usual relocator board?

The PLCC socket looks like it might be a little too tall?

I'm using a slightly different relocator (https://github.com/SukkoPera/Open68000Relocator) but it's identical in this regard. Everything fits tightly but it fits. I put some insulation tape under the TF530 just in case. I haven't tried to close the case yet though.

Did you manage to shrink the board enough to solve the cap bending issue (Either 816 or 307 - can't remember which one it was off the top of my head)?

I was thinking about tweaking the design to make it a non-issue

Mmmh, I didn't really pay attention to that (it's already a non-issue IMHO), but as you can see in the pics in the second post, no caps seem to be getting in the way on the A500.

Or did you mean on the A600?

It looks like the board is a tad shorter than the likes of the TF53x judging by from the pics.

Yes, it's 100x72 mm, I think the TF530 is 100x100.

Oh, what I mean is that on your board the 68k footprint looks like its a bit further 'down' than on the 530, so that when its in the 500 it misses the cap.

Nope, A500 - although it may be an issue with specific revisions - I know my 6a board had a cap I had to bend over to allow the relocator to sit properly.

Easy fix though if you do have a problem is to just replace the cap if you have one where the legs won't bend enough.

Yup, that's why I said it's a non-issue for me, most times you can just heat up the pads a bit and pull the legs up that bit that will allow you to lay the cap flat on the board, you don't even need to replace it.

Anyway, my pic above was taken on a rev. 6A, so it seems it's not an issue in any way .

Just for information, I've done a small update to my OpenAmiga2000CoproAdapter, which should now be easier to plug in all the A2000s out there.

It is an Open Hardware adapter that allows installing the main processor of a Commodore Amiga 2000 computer in the co-processor slot.

SukkoPera, i'm going to build some A600 4mb ramexpansion. PCB's ordered. Everything is great, great docu, except there's no BOM list..why? I'm struggling figuring out all the parts. Costs much time. In the layout there are 74LS157 but on your picture you're using ACT157G ...so which one is better to use

BOM was released along with other files, check it out:

https://github.com/SukkoPera/OpenAmi...ion-1-bom.html

Wherever an LS is specified, HCT and ACT families should be fine as well. Choose what you can find more easily/cheaply.

...excellent. Thanks a lot

On little thing, BOM says in the upper line Rev 1 ...should be 1.2 or not?

Why? The latest revision of my board (and the only one so far) is V1.

Sukkopera, maybe you want to update your A600 FastRam Expansion to 8MB with jumper to toggle between 4 and 8mb? I found a project from the past where this was possible (A608 lvd.nedopc.com). Github A608 2008 design. Would be great if you can do this, your design is way better . Maybe placing the other 4mb on the bottom side?

I don't really want to do that at the moment, as it's more like redesigning the whole thing from scratch rather than just updating it. I also feel that 4 MB are already enough for most tasks, at least for me.

Not really, plus it would need to be re-engineered with a newer cpld which is easy to find nowadays (read: XC9572XL), so it's a real big big big job.
