Dumping real hardware ROMS for expansions for emulation?
How does one dump the ROMs out of their real hardware to use in emulation? I have a FastATA in my A4000, and I'm trying to create as close to the real thing in UAE so I'm able to do an exact set up on my desktop system which I can then plug back into the Amiga, and I think that's the one expansion ROM I can't find.
Thanks. |

First you need to find the board address. Run ShowConfig and upload/attach (a pic of) its output. Also you can run Toni's expdump program.
Once you have that info you can use any memory-dumping program to dump the memory region where the ROM data is to disk. Some processing of that file will be needed to get a raw ROM dump (e.g. extract every other byte). |

Thanks! I'll give that a shot as soon as I fix some other issues (working on soldering in a new pin so I have an LED for hard drive access, since my 2nd attempt at using a CF card failed miserably.)
