USB Mouse For Amiga
Hi All,
I am bit confused regarding USB mice for the Amiga. Is it true that the a USB mouse hooked up to a Deneb or Subway may not work with certain programs/games? Is anyone here using a USB mouse in this fashion? Then it would appear that the Cocolino or the Micromys V3 may be the way to go. What mice are recommended with these adapters? Regards...ed |

That is true. Most games dont support USB mice.
We bundle a compatible mouse with our Cocolino as a product option: http://amigakit.leamancomputing.com/...products_id=88 |

I've got the Cocolino, it's great, compatible with everything.
(every program/game/mouse I've tried with it) |

Amiga will never die!

A USB mouse works on an A600 with a Subway running the Anaiis USB stack in the game "Hillsea Lido", which isn't exactly a system-friendly game, it can't even be quit back to Workbench. WHDLoad crashes the USB stack, so I can't try any other classic games, but every system-friendly game I've tried works fine with the mouse on the Subway with Anaiis on the A600 and Poseidon on the A1200.
Still, if all you're after is a replacement mouse and prefer to use a USB one without an additional USB-to-PS/2 adapter, one of those USB-Amiga mouse adapters from http://www.retro-data.com is the way to go. It'll work in anything except an A600 (without a 9-pin extension cord, anyway). |

Hi,
This Retro-Data mouse looks interesting as another alternative. This doesn't appear to be an 9pin-USB adapter but rather a completely new mouse. Am I missing something here? Also, why will this not work on an A600 easily? Regards....ed |

Hi All,
Wow. That Retro-Data USB-9Pin adapter looks very good and relatively compact. Thanks for the link! Does anyone know if this adapter comes with drivers for wheel operation (or can I simply use the drivers from Cocolino)? Finally, does this thing work with ALL games? Regards...ed |

Hi all!
I have got Cocolino and Retro-data's mouse adapters, my impresions are: - Cocolino supports wheel, but RetroData don't. - RetroData works very smooth, but Cocolino don't (see attached picture) - Cocolino worked in all Amiga 1200 I tested, but RetroData don't worked in one of four Amiga 1200. ![]() Attached picture is a test on my Amiga 1200 using Amiga mouse, cocolino with PS/2 mouse, and RetroData with USB mouse trying to draw a circle. Note: I tested two different Cocolio with USB mouse (using adapter) with the same results. Thanks Juan |

Hi,
Thanks for sharing your great research regarding these mouse adapters. Based on this, I will probably be getting a Cocolino. Yes, its a bit shaky (but not really a deal killer since I don't do any detailed graphics work on the Amiga) but the wheel function more than makes up for it! Plus, it seems that the user base of Cocolinos is larger than the other adapters so future driver support should not fade anytime soon...? Regards....ed |

I used three different PC mouses with RetroData adaptor:
- Creative USB - Lenovo USB - Logitec PS2 (using a PS2 to USB adaptor) I tested RetroData's adaptor in four Amiga 1200, and it don't worked in one of them ![]() |
