Road Rash Broken?

I've just tried this on the latest version of WHDLoad and it appears to be broken. The controls are very slow and unresponsive and you seem to end up stuck on the grass and unable to move from it - mainly on the right side of the screen.

This bug also affects the other computer controlled opponents who also get stuck on the grass. I've just tried the IPF version and it plays completely different to the WHDLoad version. The controls work correctly and you don't end up stuck on the grass. Something is definitely very wrong with the install for this game.

Anyone else tried this and noticed similar gameplay bugs?

It seems to play ok on my A600 with furia accelerator using WHDLoad 18.3. I'll also test it on my A1200 with ACA1221 and see if there are any issues there.

EDIT: Well my A1200 seems to play it fine also so it could be related to your hardware configuration. Both mine are 68020 processors.

Strange, I'm trying it with WinUAE with a standard OS3.5 configuration. 020, FPU, JIT off etc.

Just installed mine in my WinUAE setup and seems to play fine, only issue there is no 'skid' sound when going round corners too fast!

Didn't want to start a new thread, but wanted to say thanks to JOTD for adding CD32 pad support in the latest Road Rash slave.

One thing i can't get to work is using the custom passwords to start the game with a certain bike/money.

On the whdload page it states;

Custom password:

The format matters: 5 chars - 2 spaces - 8 chars - 2 spaces - 5 chars
Ex: whdload roadrash.slave preload custom="00000 01420019G5 457VO"

Top line says "8 chars" for the middle section but i think that should be '10' but either way i can't get any of the codes listed to work when loading, i am using CD32load0.45 with the 2.0 slave.

Thought I'd give this one a go again. I still have the same problem - get stuck on the grass and the bike is unresponsive to control. I've also noticed you can't perform a maximum tilt when cornering the bike like in the below screenshot. Seems I am the only one who has this issue?

one code that works (built into the slave):

Code:
00000 REDC0QNGM5 172SU
your whdload command line doesn't seem to have 2 spaces to separate. The HTML rendition of the readme probably removed the double space
(you're right it's 10 chars not 8 the readme is wrong on that point, I've fixed it for the next release)

Code:
whdload roadrash.slave preload custom="00000 01420019G5 457VO" <= wrong (HTML destroys the spacing since it exists :))
whdload roadrash.slave preload custom="00000 01420019G5 457VO" <= correct (and also correct in the readme)
I know, I was lazy, but that's how the passwords are stored in memory.

@Steve can you issue a proper bug report with your configuration etc. etc.. and how to reproduce quiclky? (http://mantis.whdload.de)
