Hipoonios Gamemap requests

I hope it's alright to have a such thread in the forum.

Gamemaps have helped me many times for my longplay videos. Thanks to them, can I play through the games much quicker. So many thanks to all who has created these maps!

Now, I'm too dumb to learn how Maptapper, or any other gfx-ripper works. So I wonder if someone could help me to rip gamemaps for some games? These gamemaps are not just for my own sake. I'm sure that others can make use of them at some point if they would be added to HOL.

The first game I want a gamemap for is the Polish game The Last Solider. There is only one large maze level in this game. Can someone see if this can be ripped?

hm...game is not tile based and not scrolling...so there will be no chance to find the whole map in memory...
I had a quick look at the "tiles".They have different widths...that makes it to difficult to rip everything in one rush.
another problem is that it works as single screen game...which means no scolling...that is the reason why Rick Dangerous still have no maps in HOL entry. maybe each screen is stored in memory..if it is tilebased...!!
even if they can be ripped it is a painful job to put them together by hand...

Sorry...maybe another one might have a solution....

I had my suspicions that it would be difficult to rip the map from this game. However, I've seen maps from none-scrolling games on HOL. One of the games I remember right now is Cyber Kick. I guess that one uses tiles?

Thanks anyway for taking a look at it.

Three other games that i would like to have gamemaps for is Miki, Forest Dumb and Forest Dumb Forever. I guess these games are easier to rip, but requires more work because they probably have a lots of levels.

Just had a quick look at Miki and i've ripped 6 maps within the last 15 minutes.
It was easy... I just used the levelskip cheat to "jump" through the game. There are more maps, but i have to go to work now....more will follow soon...

BTW: did you noticed that they used the player sprite from Woodys World !?

I was always lost while playing Last Soldier, now I see why, thanks.
Maybe Lost Soldier is more appropriate title.

Great work!!! I see you have already added them to HOL too. Can not wait to see the rest

Not sure if you want or can rip the Forest Dumb games yet. But I see you can skip levels in those games too, if you enter the cheat code

Haha, I thought the character looked familiar but could not place him.

Well, yes, I have played Miki some time ago and they used sprites and titles from Woody Worls, Superfrog, Ruff'n'Tumble and Furry of the Furries.

Woow! That must taken a lot of time with manual work? I suppose it was you who also did the map for Cyber Kick, and you used the same method to create the map for that?

Many many thanks for the map. Now i hopefully can complete this game

I have played Last Soldier all day. I have collected all items there is on first half of the map. Now I think I need to use the elevator to get any further. One of the items I have found is called "Pilot do osbtugi windy". I translated this and it means "Remote control to operate the elevator". But using this does not work. Guess no one has played this game and know what to do? Could be a bad cracked game too.

I skip this game for now. Will play Miki instead once all maps are done

Here is the way to get the elevator to work. Go to a room bordered by green brick at the very top of map. Pick up the tool satchel. Now head back west and locate the power switch. Turn it off (red light dark). Scroll map straight down and follow conduit through floor then trace it to the right. See the break in wires? Use toolkit to repair break and restore power at the switch. The elevator works with the controller now.

I hope when you make your longplay, you include what happens when you 'forget' to kill power before repairing the wires. It is so funny.

Wow! Did not expected that someone had managed to finish this quite complicated game before. How did you figure that out? Anyway, I just tried what you said and it worked! Will continue playing later in the week and ask you for help if i get stuck again

Will give you credits in my video comments.

Again, thank you very much

This seems to be a short game. So will hopefully be a easy job recording it

The game was much worse than I remembered it. It's smooth and stuff. But gameplay is lame and there is no music. There seems to be no option to play with music instead of sound-fx either. Will make a longplay anyway of course

Ok, could not play very long before i got stuck again Do you know how to open the doors to the reactors? Using the card does not work for me. I guess the card is for turn on the reactors and you need another item to open the doors?

.. and i see that someone has uploaded maps for Forest Dumb. Many thanks for that!

You need KARTA DOSTEPU DO TERMINALA and use it at the terminal.

OK
ditto for 2&3 (mechanical sounds heard)

OTWIERAM STREFE #4
AWARIA SYSTEMU!!! (alarm sounds, I suspect door 4 doesn't open for some reason)

I'm stuck trying to get the bulldozer to run. It's that thing on the short elevator near the red brick barrier. I can lift it up to barrier level but haven't been able to make it go. I'm guessing this vehicle is to smash the wall.

This game is turning out to be surprisingly fun. Also a new map is uploaded with a few cosmetic things fixed.

Great!

I have figured out how to use the bulldozer.

First you need to use "CANISTER ZAWARTOSC: PUSTY" on the gasoline barrels:

Then use "CANISTER ZAWARTOSC: BENZYNA" on bulldozer:

Yep, fun game

edit: Step 3 to get the bulldozer working: use WTACZ/WYFACZ on bulldozer

Already stuck again. It seems you must enter a code to turn on the reactors:

Let me know if you can figure it out.

edit: Ok, figured out how to open the Reactor door IV. You need to go back using the elevator. Behind Reactor door II, there is a item that you need to blow up the fourth door.

Still no luck finding the access codes for the reactors.

There is a code sheet on this site but I don't see where game asks which one to use.

http://www.ppa.pl/rodzynki/the-last-soldier.html

I have been using PDYI and it seems to work OK. This is working from many generations of the same savestate though.
