I've come up with some bad jokes regarding Greek joysticks since this thread opened, I'll refrain from posting them though

The best joysticks are those ones with lots of firebuttons, that are all wired together
Those really are the best of all!!!eleven! They must be because so many folk seem to think the useless pooping* things are any good. Death to effectively single fire button joysticks! * that's right, POOPING! |

I always had the stick of my Competition Pro in my right hand and the button under my left thumb. I thought it was so weird that all consoles had it "the wrong way around".
Joysticks with the firebuttons on the stick all sucked, the stick-button ergonomics were always totally pants for my hands, so I always used the button which was in the base if there was one. And if there wasn't, I simply didn't play with that stick. So there. |

I kinda really like those greek joysticks! Im a right fussy git when it comes to these things, I hate weedy joysticks lol, the type that uses little metal poppers held on with tape eurrghhhh! Its a reason why I hoard anything which has proper arcade style microswitches inside. I have a collection of competition pro's, cruisers and a quickshot python that for some reason is fully kitted out with microswitches and every time I see another one its not the same?
I want to build one of these greek style jobs, I assume a good solid abs plastic box will do the trick? |

Um, sorry, what is that? looks like a cheap knockoff on the TAC-2 joystick. Which was a cheap knock of in it's own right.
I agree with voices heard earlier on the topic, nothing beats a arcade style joystick, with a robust design, and proper micro-switches inside. Virtually impossible to kill, and should you manage to kill a switch anyway, they are replaceable... B! |

Sorry, i never had one, so it cant be the best ever. Yes, i am THAT good.
Rofl. Ok, so perhaps not. I still keep trying to mend and breath life in to my TAC-2's since they are a part of "the Amiga experience" for me. I had mainly TAC-2's back in the Commodore 64 days, and it never changed. I like em. Nowdays i split the time between a custom arcade stick, and the TAC-2's, depending on if i feel retro, or competitive. B! |

Very nice all those joysticks, all poorly designed, sticked to your desk. The best control (that's what it's made for) is in the megadrive Quickshot Chimera 3, that I use in my miggy:
You control all movements with two fingers, and you use the right hand for the buttons. It's insuperable (IMHO). EDIT: I've got the ZipStick one, the Competition Pro and the QuickShot model 318-102 between others Last edited by Retrofan; 26 September 2015 at 03:27. |

So, do you like splitting in their suction cups?

I've seen tons of these "exotic" joysticks, including one which works with quicksilver like a Wii controller. All were flawed by design. Nice collectors items, but nothing to play games with.

So, do you think that it's better to control all with a hand than using both at the same time? You haven't tried it
Well, it isn't like that in all of them, but I prefer to have it in my hands than in the table... and a nice stick for movements is better than the round thing of the PStations (that I like in 2ยบ place). Another thing is if you talk about vintage joysticks, but mine is vintage and advanced at the same time. Last edited by Retrofan; 08 June 2011 at 21:59. |

Well, you can use both hands with the CP Pro. Nobody would put the stick onto a desk, it lies comfortable in your hands. And no thanks, i don't need to try this Chimera 3. Your picture is enough.

The CP pro is very hard, rude in it's movements..try to move it with two fingers. I've got it in it's box.
