Just out of curiosity, what happened to the old web based file server which was in place before Magix took over? That system seemed to work well. Is there no way to get it back up and running?

Regarding the latest WHDLoad updates of games etc.
Where will they be placed until there might be a new FTP server opened? |

What work has progressed on finding a new FTP based server?
I assume one needs about 2 TB storage (I recall hearing there was about 1+ TB of stored files already), a minimum of a 640 GB bandwidth? What would be the cost of that? |

Of course everybody is free to offer more alternatives, but we already have two kind offers to host the files again. Just be patient as it'll take some time to sort it.

In the meantime, does anyone know of the next best place to get the latest TOSEC set? Preferably allowing me to download bits individually, of course.

So we got everything safely? Thank you Magic for all your efforts. I'm guessing we have legal issues with the hosting. :-(

Yep, the whole content is safe
Nope Just issues with the conditions of the webhost regarding having an 'open' FTP server. Simply put: No legal issues at all. We hope that during the next weeks an alternative will be available with the same (or at least almost the same) content. |

We have a read-only restored site up and running!
host: grandis.nu port: 21 user: ftp pass: any password will do. Enjoy and let me know of any problems. Edit: Oh, enable "passive mode" in your FTP client if you have problems downloading. Last edited by Turran; 24 July 2013 at 23:46. |

Yes, it works!. I've opened it with Filezilla. Which is the "friendly link" to use IE?
OffTopic: I was trying to find ImageConverter 2.1, but it isn't there either |

Why register your own account on the TURRAN FTP when the "ftp" account works just as well? There are a few reasons.
The "ftp" account has a limit on concurrent logins (1) and might ban you for a few hours/days if you stay on for to long. If you do not want to register, you can use our google drive instead, available here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folde...XRvNkVOelNNRk0 Your own registered account does not have such limits and is required if you want to upload. To create your own account, you must be a member of the EAB Forums here, have at least 50 posts to your name and your last post can be no older than 5 days. If you only just arrived to EAB with nice things to upload but do not yet have the posts to create an FTP account, let me know and I'll add you manually. You can create your own account from here: https://www.grandis.nu/eabadduser/ When you see this, you have entered everything correctly and can log in to the FTP. Code:
200 User (<your name>) successfully added. To upload, create a folder in ~Uploads with the same name as your username. Notice that it is case sensitive. Some notes: I strongly recommend you get a proper FTP client instead of using a browser. FileZilla is free. If using filezilla, configure it to only use max 2 connections to the EAB FTP with your own account (if using the anonymous account ("ftp"), configure it to only use 1 connection). The TURRAN FTP (The Ultimate Retro Repository for Amiga Nuts) is in no way owned or handled by the registered EAB (English Amiga Board) owner. Our interests just fit together. Please note that donations made on the EAB Forums goes towards EAB. Donations made from the link at http://grandis.nu/turran goes towards the FTP owner. /Turran Last edited by Turran; 24 September 2021 at 15:48. |
