Capturing video from real Amiga
Hello folks,
Apologies if this is a) in the wrong place and b) been asked and answered before, but I am trying to capture video straight from my A1200 as I want to record footage of Workbench and games etc. I brought a component video to USB cable (picture below) so I could record using Quicktime on my Macbook Pro, but the resulting video is pretty poor quality. Or this could be that the component output from the A1200 isn't that good. Anyone got any suggestions? Oh, and I don't want to use emulation. Many thanks in advance. |

Composite video is always going to be poor on the built-in outputs. The best option is always going to be an RGB-based solution.

I use an Amiga RGB to SCART cable then upscale it using an OSSC. I take the HDMI out of the OSCC and use a Magewell HDMI+ to capture it to my Mac or PC

Thanks for the replies folks. Hmm... got some thinking to do. Might have to drag my DVD recorder out of the loft in the short term, then look more long term.

Here are some of my old tests for comparison. First, composite using an ATI/EzCap style USB device:
S-Video using a RGB to S-Video adapter on the Amiga and the same capture device: RGB using a StarTech capture card: |
