Shadow Fighter
I remember this was being worked on for ages a year or so ago (I think by Codetapper & CFOU). But now I noticed it's disappeared from the "progress" list on the main WHDLoad page in recent times.
Sorry to see it disappear like that. Any story to tell, or is it just another case of "bigger fish to fry"? |

Yes, I know that - it just seems weird though that a fairly well known Amiga game (in my mind anyway) is still JST-only floppy wise...

I recall Sorin was the character that i finished the game with hardest level. It was some same cheesy way that could be used to win every fight heh. Can you find it out?

This was definately the best Street Fighter 2 clone on the amiga. One of the few games I actually bought - wasn't very wealthy back then. I still have the original, but I've not been very careful with the game, so the manual is very flimsy.

A guy by the name of HumanKtulu recently posted in our forum announcing that he has just made a full recording of Shadow Fighter and that it will soon be in our hands when it has been encoded. In the post he added a preview when he beats the last boss. It's recorded with his webcam I think so it's not the best quality. Looks like he recorded the movie to VHS.

Fightin Spirit
@StarEye
Then you have never played Fightin Spirit! THis is the best Street Fighter Clone on Amiga for sure! it is AGA but I hear there is an ECS version! The AGA works on ECS up till the intro and menu, but the character fight screens wont work............this is an amazing accomplishment for ECS. |

I've played Fightin' Spirit, and found the controls to ruin an otherwise beautiful game. Fightin' Spirit was a sexy beast graphics wise, but gameplay wise Shadow Fighter was superiour.

You must have not been using a CD32 Joypad....it supports 6 buttons like StreetFighter! Shadow Fighter does not. Fightin Spirit definitelty has the best controls. Yes Shadow Fighter is technichally well done..........but the characters look like they were drawn by a child....they look silly like puppets. The same goes for Body Blows......I think the reason is because they drew them on DPaint.....they should have drawn them on TVpaint. Also have you tried ElfMania? Smoothest ECS fighting Game ever! and best looking for an ECS Fighting Game. it looks AGA. |

Elfmania looks great, but the gameplay is way too simplistic.
Haven't tried Fightin' Spirit with a cd32 pad, but then I hate the CD32 pad. But I'm still allowed to like Shadow Fighter better, am I not? It's not like there's a definite answer. I hated the characters in Fightin' Spirit too. Thought Shadow Fighter had better characters. |

Elfmania is way too hard to complete (for me that is). I never win the King with 4 stars as difficulty

I've had no luck getting the AGA version to install to hard disk with the installer that comes with the game, so a WHDLoad installer sure would be handy... |

I think that Fightin' spirit is the best game of fight of the amiga and better than those of Snes and Megadrive, this game is very similar to the Neogeo games. The graphician of this game is incredibly excelent!!!.Only that I do not like of this game is the Japanese style. Shadow Fighter, Body Blows and Elfmania are Amigarules or European style, enchants this to me.
