I have a Core2duo 2.13 with 4mb cache, 2gb ddr2 800 ram and ati x1900crossfire
the only problem I'm having with Winuae is the delayed sound. (sound buffer is 2 meaning 70ms latency) when I set it to 1 I start to get clicks every two second). But I think that has something to do with my sound card not being an ASIO sound card. BTW does Winuae makes use of ASIO sound cards for zero latencies?

Wrong thread, moved.

If you can hear the delay when sound buffer = 2, something is wrong. (and why didn't you list your sound card model but everything else..)

soundcard is onboard realtek hda.
the sound latency is really hard to notice. But I've got too keen senses. It's really not "very" important at all. But if there was a way for WinUAE to use ASIO drivers, it could become much better. (for example Asio4all driver can be used with any soundcard that has windows wdm drivers) here= http://www.asio4all.com/

Don't say it's not important, I'm on your side Buffers in general is what kills what I call the feedback loop in games, emulated or normal. Playing games with delayed sound is like watching a movie with bad lip sync.

Unless Toni gets struck by genius-lightning and invents a new sound scheme, PC sound requires buffers due to lack of DMA.

I can recommend the EdiRol UA-1EX sound card. It's a low-priced USB sound card that does its thing well and has 4ms latency (=delay).

The lowest WinUAE allowed was 60ms, which is a delay of three 50-Hz frames. That's Huge How about allowing 20ms buffers Toni?

Sound latency value (in milliseconds) is not really accurate (after "new" sound system it is wildly inaccurate, value is too big), I think I'll just remove it because it is impossible to calculate it correctly.

btw, it has nothing to do with DMA. Think about it first
