I am running the latest version of WinUAE (2.3.0.0 I believe - 24/9/2010) and need to set up my controls in game. I do not want to use the set controls and wondered whether there was a way to set my own KEYS to the controls including Mouse Buttons.
I can edit all my configuration files if required using a text replacer. Also, is there a way to set the EXIT key to ESC please. Many thanks. or even better, in the config as below; input.1.joystick.0.disabled=0 input.1.joystick.0.axis.0=JOY1_HORIZ.0 input.1.joystick.0.axis.1=JOY1_VERT.0 input.1.joystick.0.button.0=JOY1_FIRE_BUTTON.0 input.1.joystick.0.button.1=JOY1_2ND_BUTTON.0 input.1.joystick.0.button.2=JOY1_3RD_BUTTON.0 input.1.joystick.1.disabled=0 input.1.joystick.1.axis.0=JOY2_HORIZ.0 input.1.joystick.1.axis.1=JOY2_VERT.0 input.1.joystick.1.button.0=JOY2_FIRE_BUTTON.0 input.1.joystick.1.button.1=JOY2_2ND_BUTTON.0 input.1.joystick.1.button.2=JOY2_3RD_BUTTON.0 Make it so I can remap these joy buttons to keyboard buttons maybe? Have a look at the 'game ports' and input panels. I guess you mean WHDLoad when you talk about the exit key?

Actually I mean the quit from the program (Normally ALT + F11) - want to use ESC to quit back to windows.
I have found a remap button for the joystick and mouse that allows input of keyboard keys - I am changing my config files to test and will let you know. Thanks. |

Check the input panel and search for 'Quit emulator' in the key function list.

thanks, that all works now. I used the manual 'remap' button for one config and added the ESC key for Quit. I then copied the control file to ALL config files and now when I run them it all works. Even got my adventure games working by remapping mouse controls to the joystick (ipac keys).
I have the problem with the iPac not seeing the keys at certain points but that's an ipac problem rather than WinUAE.. Thanks for your help! |

actually it doesn't work. my copy and paste to each UAE config file doesn't appear to have set the remapped keys.
Is there a global controller change file I can use or anything in the file that I need to set the controller to for it to work? ignore me.. found the problem. THIS... joyport0=mouse joyport1=kbd2 NEEDED TO BE CHANGED TO THIS.... joyport0=custom joyport0autofire=none joyport0mode=djoy joyport1=custom joyport1autofire=none joyport1mode=djoy Last edited by TCD; 07 January 2011 at 15:13.
