Great interview. I remember from 91 onwards most of my "acquired games" had that Fairlight cracktro.

I think it's great that Galahad get's the same kick from working on something like Putty Squad as he did back in the day cracking.

Very good interview.
I have been pretty impressed with all The Retro Hour podcasts so far.

Yep good interview and brought some memories back

My one and only attempt at cracking back in the day (Hard'n'Heavy) failed badly... from (hazy)memory it loaded from bootblock but still had files on the disk, and even then I couldn't finish a final that worked...

A few months later I'd probably have no problem, but as it was it kind of told me where my interests were, which was demos and I got the loader graphic out of it for my first demo for Phenomena, so.

Galahad, I got one question just of pure interest. At which point of time did you become a Fairlight member on the amiga and who let you into the group at the time?

I'm guessing 1993 http://janeway.exotica.org.uk/author.php?id=23540

When I was in the scene I never heard of him as a cracker but I did officially exit the scene in Dec 1993 and DCS didnt exist (it was just Dual Crew when I was in it!)

Late 93 and it was Splatt, N.O.M.A.D, Skol and JBM that let me in

hahaha I just heard the reference to me (indirectly) in the video.. Nice one Galahad.. we both know the story (44m20s) LOL....

I would have loved to chat about the scene.. Pity Dan couldnt get a panel on piracy!! That would be funny and informative.

Was a good interview, especially the "I am the bringer of dreams" made me laugh I also liked how you didn't give the usual "Robin Hood" gloss to what went on back in the day...

A refreshingly candid interview I thought and so surreal to actually hear a cracker talk about the scene. Thanks for getting onboard.

One thing that was really disappointing though; the line "we've come to the end of the show". It's a podcast, it ends when there's nothing left to say! I could have listened to this one all day. Was the producer giving the neck slash signal?

Nice interview! I actually thought Galahad was a mythical creature in the Amiga scene whose presence is more spiritual than physical so its kinda weird to hear your voice!

It was weird to me, havent heard my voice for a while, both the hosts (Dan and Ravi) have proper radio sounding voices, me? Not so much.

Original interview was much longer, had to be edited for their format, but hey, maybe if they get pestered enough they might do extra releases of all their podcasts with more stuff in, but its their show and most of what I wanted to say was in there, except the quip about US Gold, and id have preferred less of a focus on LSD as I made it quite clear they were "faintly ridiculous", but overall a fair edit

Do you still keep looking over your shoulder or is that all done and dusted as far as the boys in blue are concerned?
