Tom & Jerry, Sh*t Cartoon, REALLY Sh*t Game

I loved the classic cartoons of the past, the original Loopy Daffy Duck, Porky Pig, Sylvester, Foghorn Leghorn and many Tex Avery shorts of the 40's and 50's that were repeated during the 70's and 80's when I was growing up but I never liked Tom & Jerry cartoons, I think it was down to the fact that smug little sh*t-head mouse never got his comeuppance from Tom, same reason why I HATED that goofy smug-arse Bugs Bunny,...got so bad I wanted him to get his teeth kicked in

So here I am having to play Tom & Jerry on a "Shit Game Time" review and my god It's terrible, an utter disgrace to the beloved Amiga and It's Paula soundchip,...I mean that music is just terrible,...and as for the £25 asking price tag,...WTF???

They were products of their time, playing on extreme slapstick comedy to get laughs from children who I observe DO find people getting hurt really funny!

Without watching Tom & Jerry and Road Runner vs Wile E. Coyote I think the connection between The Simpson's Itchy & Scratchy and satire is broken. I therefore don't allow my young children to watch the Itchy and Scratchy segments! If they never watched much Tom & Jerry then Itchy & Scratchy BECOMES the thing it's mocking but by ratcheting up the violence and gore it is borderline disturbing for young minds.

That is unless of course you are trying to desensitise the young to put up with Saw, Hostel in later life and all those sick abominations! Tom & Jerry is very innocent I'm comparison and closer to Laurel & Hardy than Miranda (which I consider worse than the Chuckle Bothers who had charm).

Tom & Jerry had its moments, I especially liked the extremely loud screams when Tom would be slammed on his hand or foot or something Or the "owner is away from home" parties they would have where the pack of cats that Tom would immediately invite over would start to do music and wild dances and create sandwiches 50 layers thick. "Look ma, I'm dancin' I'm dancin'!".

But yeah, a bit formulaic. It's always the same cat VS the same mouse, at least the Looney Tunes mixed it up a little.

Just like Roots, Tom & Jerry is based on a true story.

There is an episode where they both die. Blue Cat Blues. It's a very strange episode.

Wait a minute, this game was £25!! That's £57 in today's money! WTF!

I can't comment on the game, but the golden era of animation run of Tom and Jerry cartoons were awesome. Total cancel culture fodder today, lol

That scream was actually a recording of a long yell with the beginning and end chopped off.

Something else I loved was the clever orchestration of music to provide most of the sound effects.

good job criticizing the cartoons along with the game. Now the thread has derailed completely

The game itself sucks properly, you got that right (and I like the cartoons)

What JOTD said

But i have to add something...
YOU ARE A MONSTER ZEUS !!!!

How can you not love Tom & Jerry, ??? ;
but apparently you never really watched them,
because Jerry gets quiet often catched by Tom. !!!!

There are even situations where Tom could easily kill Jerry...
but hey can´t, because he kinda need him ....
... think of Batman & Joker

I would recommend you give them another chance
or watch at least this little Video that expains alot of there history, background and why they are so freaking awesome

Feel free to dislike them afterwards; but dont "jude" somebody that you hardly know... even if they are cartoons

and they sometimes end up teaming together against a stronger enemy or getting an win-win end, which makes the episode special and loved by fans after all the (non lethal) bashing they inflicted to each other in the other ones

Off to the Guillotine! Off with the heads of anyone talking smack about Tom and Jerry or even Scooby and Shaggy! Burn the heretics.

for sure is funny for the first time also because remember the cartoon. I play a lot on C64 and this version for Amiga is not bad. Of corse after some time become very boring, but it's ok
