[obsolete] EoB 1 Translation Project

Here a gift for EOB fans,
my new product.

Ressourced TEST.DAT files of EOB English&German for translation

And Tools created for this job


I think DLSILVER should be translated it in french (if he is agree of course)

Contact me if you have done translation

I will can add it in whdload's package

i fully agree of course CFOU! ^^, i have always regretted that Virgin never translated
this game to french, which is a non-sense...

if not problem with it i look for EOB2 translation...

PS: I am working of your french translation of Spiderman02. For the moment i have not found reason of the crach but i have already fix 10 lines which was more longer (max 71 letters).

i'll look into it starting next weekend, but let me understand the first red thing is an accent or the beginning and end of text, defining a container? and the second red thing is a single unit or not?

here an example extracted from English ASM

i f you want type:
"You've been told"
the correct source is :
dc.b ' you',"'",'ve been told ',0

because text must start and finish by ' or "



or if you prefère use a special caractere like %
dc.b ' you%ve been told ',0

so I will done conversion after in a text editor

I am doing it without polish special characters so there is no problem with the game itself and polish people are able to read something like this. They are accustomed to such things

great i will test it

and try to support Lowlovel.library for automatic langage selection with whdload's patch (but i am not sure polish langage is supported i will test it..)

Working Progress:
DLSILVER: French
MAILMAN: Polish (already done to test)
Marco Pedrana: Italian

german is not necessary an full german version exit

can you check the file where the ingame sentences are stored, i will translate them too ^^

it's all the files levelXX.inf but they are compressed, can you do something ? ^^


Bertrand, for information, the tool westpak2 has the ability to extract the graphics in PCX for example and then you just have to work on the graphic characters ^^.

edit : the text portion are 320x33 in size. i think we shoud not go over this limit...

i think all other ingame texts are in EOB2 file i will try to found a solution to translate it quickly (perhaps like liquids kids)

I am looking a tools to pack in cps format, it's seems cps format (on pc) is a 320*200*256 image with or without palette crunched by Format80 compressor algoryth...

I will try to see if it's the case on amiga (perhaps another standard amiga crunch format was used (with chance...)

I have a good new i have found decrunch routine for gfx in CPS
in fact its 4 bitsplans gfx (not 256 colors Denis )

here decrunch code it seems work with main gfx CPS files (except some like xanath1.cps ???)

But the better new is i think to have found crunch routine (a part of the EOB code not use by the game ) I will test it tomorrow.

CFOU! ! i've posted uncps some day ago in the other EoB thread, it is still there
but i'm a little puzzled: you are extracting pc or amiga files? and if amiga, inside amiga or on pc? the same for crunching
i look forward to the weekend to try the stuff!
also some CPS file contains audio samples, they could be even played on diropus
