I add a note for E-UAE
E-UAE cannot replace "winuae"
winuae is completely superior in all respects

but instead you have to see it as a program that makes you watch demoscenes launch games and other little things when you are using the amigaos 4.1
is this does it well.

this is the big difference in its use :-)

I read that you were looking for a program to listen to internet radio
tunet is a great program

there are alternative solutions like this:
http://os4depot.net/share/network/misc/mediavault.lha

you could also just use amigaAMP and make yourself a radio list
but currently the easiest is MediaVault

here the video with MediaVault currently the channels are not many in your local language but it is a good start:
[ Show youtube player ]

here instead AIOstreams (RADIO):
[ Show youtube player ]

Hi,
I've got mediavault and amigaamp working so I can listen to the radio. On the other hand the video audio is still fading away towards the end of video files. I've got soundblaster in the correct locations and mixer lists soundblaster but it's still not working.

look at your audio settings in winuae and mplayer-gui and compare them with these screenshots

you can try "ahidev2"

otherwise other solutions can be found

what version of winuae are you using?

you can do an alternate test to see if mickjt-mplayer via mplayer-gui is having problems

download ffmpeg:
http://os4depot.net/share/video/convert/ffmpeg.lha

unpack it in ram:
you find a file called "unpack"
double clicking on it will unpack you in ram:
ffplay-generic
move the entire folder to wherever you like within your system

then drag in an ffplay-generic shell and immediately after drag a file in .mp4 format
in the middle give this command
-vo sdl

then the complete shell command for example:
ffplay-generic -vo sdl video.mp4

if everything works and the audio of the video is heard until the end
then the problem is in mplayer-gui and the audio configuration
if this also gives you audio problems you have to fix the audio in os 4.1

ffplay will come in handy later because it supports streaming such as twitchTV

now supports many radios in many languages etc.
download here:

Hi,
I've checked the settings as suggetsted in your previous post and they seem to be right. I've then run the commands you suggest. If I use the -vo sdl command I have a problem - 'option vo not found' and the video won't play

If I don't use that option the video plays although very stutteringly. As it plays the sound once again does fade towards the end of the the video. The sound is extremely bad but hearable until it fades.

-vo sdl AmigaOS:VIDEOS/ocean.mp4
instead you wrote this:
-vo sdlAmigaOS:VIDEOS/ocean.mp4

you have to put a space

put your config file so I try it

ffplay is less performing than mickjMPlayer
but it's perfect for streaming

(ffplay) we always talk about emulation performance not real hardware :-)

also you can do the same test with mickjT-MPlayer
like this while still dragging files into the shell:

mickjT-MPlayer-nonaltivec -vo sdl ocean.mp4

separate note:
also you can put the link of your ocean.mp4 file
to be able to download it and then try it out.

Hi,
Using the -vo sdl section with mplayer workd fine although the sound still trails off but using it with ffmpeg even with the space won't for some reason. It works, albeit haltingly, with ffmpeg without the sdl part.

I've attached the configuration file. I think it's ok but of course I could be wrong. Perhaps as you say it's the OS4.1 that needs fixing.

There are errors in your configuration
it is useless to make the list

I changed your settings for the mediator and other things

you should try now with this config file you just have to select where your roms are and your .hdf

here my audio as it is set up on my system
it doesn't matter if my ahi is different from yours and has the word "a-eon"

it would be useful to have your .mp4 file for testing

or test with another .mp4 file
if you just can't put it on

-vo sdl doesn't work with ffplay --- sorry it's my mistake

Hi
Don't worry about the mistake I very much appreciate your help.
Your configuration is a definite improvement on mine in many ways. I've also amended the settings in AHI. Unfortunately however the disappearing sound is still a problem.
The files I've been testing with work fine in windows so I don't think they are a problem. The maximum file size I can upload appears to be 100K so i can't upload one.
Maybe when I installed the system I missed a step or made a mistake although all the updates are installed.

Hi,
It seems the files I was using were the main problem. If I use lower resolution files the sound works ok. I've foud a program to download youtube videos to my pc and they work fine in the emulation as long as the resolution is low.

Great.
you have to take into account that you don't have a real graphics card and for 4.1 it is a disadvantage.
But the emulation remains pleasant
360p and 720p videos should play smoothly.
Obviously it depends on the processor in use.
In this case even if you use workbench 3.xx you encounter the same problems.

If you tell me what processor you are using I could recommend further applications for 4.1
For example E-UAE is nice to integrate with 4.1 if you are interested in amiga demoscenes
You could also use the Odyssey browser to watch videos on youtube I can give you a ready-made script to make it work.
It is easier to give you the script than to explain its use.

If you want to use other applications, all you have to do is ask :-)

Here I have prepared a version of E-UAE with workbench 3.1 which supports uaegfx and you can watch the demos directly in it.

Hi,
Thanks for your reply.
I'm using a PC with a Ryzen 5 2400g processor. I have the odyssey 7 beta browser installed but if I look at youtube no images are displayed so if you have a script I could use to show and play videos it would be great.

open the user-startup with an editor
and add this:
SETENV OWB_USER_AGENT "Mozilla/5.0 (BB10; Touch) AppleWebKit/537.10+ (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/10.0.9.2372 Mobile Safari/537.10+"

this will help you select the right user agent without making major changes.

download the pythonssl:
http://os4depot.net/share/library/misc/pythonssl.lha
unzip

and copy the files to their respective paths.
sys : python/Lib/LibdynLoad/

then open Odyssey
make preferences and then
contextual menus
and add what you see in the screenshot

then move these applications to Utilities:
MPlayer-GUI
MickJT-Mplayer
FFMpeg

don't forget to update AmiSSL:
http://os4depot.net/share/library/misc/amissl.lha

once finished I'll put you the scripts already configured for the paths selected above.

Hi,
Thanks for the advice.
I've set things up as you described. Currently youtube does display image and will play videos but very haltingly in odyssey.

It is normal that videos are played slowly using Odyssey directly, you would need a faster processor.
The solution is to use programs like YT.rexx and AIOstreams the videos in this case will be fluid.

Youtube occasionally updates its "scripts" and consequently the authors of these programs update their versions.
Just yesterday I was preparing the scripts for you and it seems that at the moment they don't work perfectly.
But it's only a matter of time in a few days the updated scripts will most likely come out.
As soon as the authors release them I will give you the compressed file to download.
And they will already be configured and ready to use for winuae for amigaos 4.1
For the settings you just configured for your system.

here you can see an example of the scripts in use:
