Elite save problem?

Hi,

I'm using the Whdload version of Elite v2.0 and everything works great... For a while

Initially I can save and reload saved games but always just when I've got 1000 credits and I've upgraded my laser I try to save and it hangs then I need to reinstall the game.
If I don't reistall then the game won't run complaining that someting or other was interrupted...

Funny thing is that I vaguely recall something similar happening with my original way back when but can't remember if I ever got around it??

Does it still come up with a copy protection screen where it asks you to enter something? If it does, don't just press RETURN, enter something, then hit RETURN.

Lots of older games had an extra check in there to detect if anything was actually entered.

No, no copy protection but thanks for the tip, it'll probably come in handy !

Is your WHDLoad installation of the game from your original floppy that gave the same problems? If so, it might be a version thing.

My original disks are unfortunately unreadable

I'm using KillerGorilla's pre-installed pack...

There is an option to put the protection back into the WHDLoad Elite install so that you are able to muck about with the inbuilt game trainer, one of the custom tooltypes I think.

I play on the original disk and I haven't met any problems like that.. but I must have been able to get the copy protection right. Its a great game

i had your same problem...try to download another version of that file (if you want i can send you by email the adf file I now playing or the config file). Anyway I resolve with some attemps. Sometimes WinUae too seems to be..."angry"...

and it doesnt want to execute simple commands..!
