thanks. just want to listen to the tune from Viruskiller pro v1.3

Edit: i guess i never had v2.0 back in the days, v1.3 soundtrack sounds more familiar to me.
winuae's prowizard cant rip the module, but Wanted team did it already (
http://wt.exotica.org.uk/examples.html )

Edit2: hmm, listened to v2.0 and v1.3 mods (BSS_VirusKiller13Pro.lzx and BSS_VirusKiller2Pro.lzx ) from Wanted Team, using uade123. sounds not really different, but listening to the sound from within viruskiller v1.3, its not the same, as on the wanted team page.
can anyone confirm

Edit3: strange, i have to enable (P)anning while playing with uade123, then i get some additional voice. but the mixing is wrong here. sound (winuae running using wine) on my weak box isnt that good, to say for sure

State the obvious first, both of the rips are quite different versions of the same tune. The WT version and the app version sound the same to me, turn resampling and filtering off to make sure it's a fair comparison.

i set panning to "1" in uade (mono), now it sound better. v2.0 has some additional part (different from the main theme, which both version have).

tried again winua, set to mono, 22khz, but my machine should get replaced. strange thing is, sound always shows something like from "-140%" to "-165%". and when i move the amiga mouse cursor in the visible canvas (640x200 area of viruskiller for example) the sound gets even more distorted. not that funny, but i guess a wine issue. wont bother anyone, just telling a story

Hi everyone,

wow, the only place in the universe where Viruskiller Professional 2.0 is discussed at all. I loved it at the time, saved my a.. several times. Great GFX and sound made it quite fun to use. I am looking for the original disk image because I seem to have lost it, and it's not present in the zone right now.
In exchange, if anyone is interested, I can upload the "KillerV2.0" ProTracker module I have created. You can listen to it with every player you prefer because it uses only the most basic commands and effects. Also uses the same samples as the custom module and the arrangement is real close to the original - not a remix.

Thank you!
Regards,
Joe

you can find Viruskiller pro 1.3 and 2.0 on the eab ftp - not the retail disk images but some compilation with the application on it.
I hope that is ok.

Hello everyone. I found this thread because i was searching for an old antivirus i used whe i had my Amiga 1000. I still remember the music in it and i'm too excited that i finally found it. Unfortunately i don't know anything about Amiga emulators or tools so i have to ask you an enormous favor.
Can i have the music of the Viruskiller in mp3 or wav format? Or anything playable with mediaplayer?
I would really really appreciate that! Please let me know!

hi, you can find the amiga compatible song module on Don Adans Wanted team website - custom modules:

VirusKillerV2.lha (30179 bytes) - custom module from "VirusKiller V2.0 Pro".
016_VirusKillerV2.lzx (39737 bytes) - source of custom module "VirusKiller V2.0 Pro".

next you download uade module player for windows ( scroll down on that page ):
2010-04-18: uade-2.13-cygwin.zip built by Stephen Dowse (oddbod@bur.st), and PGP signature

next extract uade-2.13-cygwin.zip and VirusKillerV2.lha and put CUST.VirusKillerV2.0Pro ( music module ) in the folder of uade123.exe

on command line change to uade123.exe folder and use this command line:
Code:
uade123.exe CUST.VirusKillerV2.0Pro -f VirusKillerV2.0Pro.wav
this will write the VirusKillerV2.0Pro.wav file. without the "-f VirusKillerV2.0Pro.wav" option you can just listen to the song.

give it a try - if thing dont work, i'll upload a wav into the zone for you.

i try to find out about the author of the music module of tristar viruskiller 1.3/2.0. is there someone with more background who can identify the artist behind?

according to older title screens, programming was done by transformer of tristar. music is not credited though...

The song in the Tristar viruskiller was composed by Flynn.

you are awesome, dude.

if i had to choose a couple of quintessentials for desert island, this one would definitely join in the paranoimia song, the crystal hammer song or the mindbreaker title just to name a few

need to check out other mods by flynn.
