USB joysticks are no longer a thing?
I'm looking for a USB joystick for use with Windows, MiSTer, Pi, etc.
The Competition Pro re-release is no longer available, and commands stupid prices on eBay (after shipping). AmigaKit have the Arcade Evolution but I'd never buy at the price being asked. I don't want a DB9 -> USB solution. Has this become such a niche market that noone makes and sells them at a reasonable price? Ideally I'd love a joystick-joystick. Not a arcade-like joystick (like a Competition Pro style), but getting that type of stick in USB is probably impossible. I don't want to use joypads anymore. There is the arcade manufacturers route, buy the pieces and build one yourself

True, but I don't want to deal with that sort of thing anymore. I'm at that stage where I just want to plug it in and it works.

There is a manufacturer here in Greece that makes great joysticks at a very reasonable price. I have bought 2 from him.

Regarding the ArcadeR at retroradionics, I purchased mine from Ebay, delivered fast and happy with the joystick. Would recommend.
The shaft was a little short but as it can be modded. I purchased an extension from Ebay for like £1.50 and works like a charm Last edited by Fiery Phoenix; 04 April 2022 at 16:16. |

I bought Competition Pro Re-release for my RetroPie setup and retroradionic's 9DB joystick for Amiga and comparing the two, I hate Competition Pro Re-release as the joystick is stiff and awkward for gaming while retroradionic's 9DB feels much better and is my choice for Amiga. I used Comp Pro couple of times and now is just collecting dust, replaced by Mayflash F300 which is better solution for emulation of other, non-Amiga systems. If retroradionic's ArcadeR is the same joystick as 9DB variant, I would recommend, but this is just my view.
