Minstack?

Is there a reason I can't seem to be able to find PeterK's MinStack on Aminet? Was a problem found with it or was it replaced by something else maybe?

I've removed Minstack (and also IconBeFast) from Aminet some months ago. MinStack did not increase the stacksize under ALL circumstances as it should (as Retrofan reported and Thore Böckelmann (MUI) explained), and I was too lazy to fix it. Please use StackAttack instead, because it will do the job, although it seems to be a little bloated IMHO. (Btw, I don't like PMs) Atm, MinStack is still included in my IconDemoA500.ADF image, but not supported anymore.

Never mind, Galahad/FLT

I'm just too lazy to log in for PMs. I prefer to get emails instead.

StackAttack doesn't always work either, in particular with Setpatch 44.38. While OS3.9 does increase the default stack in a few areas, it doesn't always seem to be enough, in particular for 68060 users...

Maybe if some interest was shown PeterK might consider taking another look at MinStack? With it gone there seems to be a void in the stack hacks.

MinStack was one of my very first steps into assember programming, but I never did any investigations concerning the different stack memory allocation techniques in the AmigaOS. My code was based on the source of StackAttack 2.3, just leaving out some unwanted features. I'm still using MinStack on OS 3.9 and it runs stable, but I don't want to be responsible for some rare cases on other systems which it obviously doesn't detect and protect as desired.

So better ask the authors of StackAttack for bugfixes and improvements.
