Awesome!
I agree it's a shame there are no savestates though... made it a pain to record the DOS version of LN2 (bad controls etc). |

Agreed. Save states would be an excellent addition for a future release

Still no support for datestamp preservation either. >.<
Really wish they would just throw it in one day as I hate having to mess about with source code and compilation programs in general. Still, nice to see a new official release as usual! |

Thank you for the news of the update, Zandig. It's good to see a new version appear and there look to be some good changes - plenty of them, too!

From what I read on VOGONS, adding save state support would supposedly be very, very difficult to pull off perfectly, what with the endless amounts of combinations of 'parts', 'files', taking RAM into account and what not.

You can save the states in VMWare (including inside games, at least the one I tried)... and that's with Windows and everything running.
It's pretty slow though and the save state files are naturally big. |

Niiice release.

My guess is that they want to do it "nice" or not at all (which is a bit trickier to get right with all the chains of pointers and whatnot). |

You just reminded me that when I removed XP and installed Win7 I forgot to backup my DOSbox games

Can't really fault DOSBox. It runs most games I have without any problems. However, pinball games like Illusions, Dreams and Fantasies (couldn't get Slam Tilt to work with this) - no matter how many variations of settings tried, still couldn't make tables scroll smooth like the Amiga equivalent. Unless someone else has? I'm using Windows 7 (64-bit).

You just start a new file with all the "NEW" information and pointers to the old locations when needed. The old disk file is your save.. It's pretty instantaneous... That's how VMWare snapshots work. It's the RAM status that you have to grab somehow, which is tricky if you haven't designed it for it. desiv |

Save states would be amazing! That would definitely make it much easier for making video reviews and such. A lot of old-school CRPGs and the like are funny about letting you save the game (sometimes intentionally).
