Amiga demos in DHTML

Check this out:

Famous demos, and awesome coding

Check out this project of mine, which I had started about 1 year ago, and now there's a good pile of demos working.

It's those demos you grew up with and admired, but this time - presented via DHTML and your browser (IE only).

Have a look at the development site, which will shortly be upgraded quite nicely to look like a proper amiga desktop, and relive those old, golden days.. and remember, its all coded in DHTML!!

Please feel free to make requests for your favourite intro/demo to be converted and added to the growing list!

edit: - oh yea, u will need a URL : http://norrish.force9.co.uk/amiga

Question Forgotten something?

It might help if you put a link to your website!

Impressive. It seems that some parts are done using the "CSS image positioning"-trick (where just parts of a larger image are shown; if you change the parts fast enough, you get a sort of an "animated image"), but some others, like the starfield or the bouncing cube in the "Hardwired Part 1" demo, seem to work different.

Anyway, very nice work. Just the 8bit sound is pretty fucked up (IE6 / WinXP SP 2).

Stay tuned, as there's an imminent site update which will be something really special. Also, I`m searching very old intros from 1986 or so if you can help?

Greatest design I've seen in a while, fairly above the average WB-themed site

Did you try the 16bit sound option? The 8bit sound has a poor buffer, so there is definately some lag and also it slows IE down as well

Firefox will only let me view the first two demos (boing and juggler), clicking on any of the folders, just shows the same two demos.

IE throws a right wobbler when I try to do anything.. (keeps attempting to download a file called "demo")...

Try enabling both of the HTTP1.1 options in IE?
