Brightness on HAM8 C2P conversion

Hi guys,

I use Kalms' c2p\ham8\c2p_2rgb565_4rgb555h8_040.s HAM8 C2P routine for my next intro.

It's working pretty well but somehow I don't fully understand why the color white (0xffff) is converted to HAM8 0x7c7c7c instead of 0xf8f8f8.

Is that intended? Or do I miss something? At the moment the screen is quite dark.

The C2P outputs only 5 bitplanes (instead of 6 available in HAM8) so you need to show them on the upper bitplanes. The least significant bitplane you can leave 0, 1, noise or whatever

c2p\ham8\c2p_4rgb888_4rgb666h8_040.s is a little bit brighter (but slower).
