That of course would work, but I believe AMAS would be better as it allows you to set up split points. Haven’t tried it unfortunately. There’s also a program called “MIDI IN” and Sound Oasis might also work.

thank you, I don't know AMAS, I'll take a look.
edit : does it depand on its own hardware, or is it compatible with my generic (or trilogic) midi interface and technosound sampler (or trilogic sampler) ? |

If you have an accelerated machine spare, don't forget MidiIn, I've used that controlled by OctaMED over a nullmodem. It works very nicely.

Thanks !
I'm currently building an amiga 600 (2mb) for a musician friend, including midi interface and sampling interface, with a pcmcia cf drive and a 4gb 3.1 harddrive. Knowing a bit his sound studio setup, he will mostly use the amiga as a lofi sampler and soft synth. AMAS seems very, very interesting. But I cannot find it for now. Personaly I'm using a "maxed" 1200 amiga as my main computer in my home studio. |

So I think the software should work with a regular separate sampler and midi interface. I’ll have to test it, myself. Grandis nu has two versions: http://ftp2.grandis.nu/turransearch/...0&httplinks=on Your musician friend is very lucky that you’re setting up an Amiga for him. Please send him to my latest video on Amiga soft synths for inspiration [ Show youtube player ] |

I already sent him your video ! He's very enthusiast about this.
He's one of my best friends from the last 25years. I kept contact with him, and we share the same love for music. He sent me a therapSID (a SID based synth) and a controller, I 'll give him my amiga 600 (I'm currently willing to buy a 500, maxed out too). I'll keep you informed about my tests on AMAS. the difficult part is that the 600 have a very bad disk drive...I hope I'll be able to install it. Or maybe I'll try to find a software to mount adf on 68000... On my 1200 3.2, no problem, but on the 3.1 600, it may be difficult. |

reader and the emulator will read that like it’s a real Amiga system…you can copy over files quite easily, or clone/backup your CF card image for instance. |

I had a tracker back in the day where you loaded a sample once and it made a few up sampled copies to get around the limited range problem. I used that mostly when I just wanted to use my Amiga as a sampler. I’ll try and find it.

SoundOasis seems the most fully functional for sample midi playback because it has some ADSR envelopes (and a filter envelope), while things like Octamed just give you the sample as flat playback, albeit with loop points. However, you can't load .iff audio files into it, it uses the Ensoniq Mirage sample format. I'm going to check AMAS next to see, will report back. Suprised this doesn't exist more commonly as a thing in the 80s/90s, like a poor man's Akai. If anyone knows of a MIDI sample player with envelopes, I'd love to knwo about it.
Okay, possibly: MidiIn - but I cannot find either version of it as an .adf for a real Amiga. https://github.com/royaltm/Amiga-midiIn Last edited by GavinG; 27 August 2023 at 19:33. |

Thinking about having a go with this!
I have a thing for collecting amiga samplers and just bought this: https://bigbookofamigahardware.com/b...t.aspx?id=1113 I have an Amas stashed away somewhere so will see if I can find it. |
