The cheap adapters actually cause distortion around the mouse cursor as well as lag, so they would be unsuitable for drawing.

There is also the matter of not-so-faithful color reproduction.

But I guess you can't blame a $20 box for not doing a perfect job

For crisp and fast and faithful we need to cash out more. As it stands right now, D520 is my likely pick.

I’d like to see a demo vid of the D520 in workbench and Dpaint. I have a Retrotink SCART and it looks ok in games etc but completely awful in workbench.

I made a quick test recording off a D520 of WB, some Amiga Test kit footage and some DPaint.

I wasn't feeling very artistic, mind.
Also youtube appears to have messed up the checkerboard pattern in the Amiga Test Kit, in reality it looks like this (see attachment)

Thanks, saves my effort. Of course Youtube packing ruins the sharpness, it basically is a pixel perfect Amiga scaler no matter what software you run, as long as it is in PAL or NTSC.

I have to say, that does look really good. Do you notice any lag with mouse movement in Workbench?

Send a message via ICQ to Predseda
I would like to see a direct comparison between D520 and OSSC.

I got the d520 . It does not work correctly on my generic flatscreen branded Denver. It could be the tv though. However on my panasonic telly it works well but in beast 1 and turrican 2 it seems several sound channels are misding. It may be outputting 2 channels at most. Has anyone else experienced this. Unless running from whdload causes it? I should try a floppy disk to rule out whdload. I will try on my parents flatscrern too. Otherwise i will have to return it perhaps.
