Thinking About Selling My Amiga 3000 (US)

I have an US Amiga 3000 in very nice shape that I'm thinking about selling. The memory has been maxed out to 16MB, has one disk drive, the hard drive is a 4GB model, and it comes with the original keyboard and a new Amiga mouse. I currently have ClassicWB installed on it with a few games.

Everything is in great shape and works well. The only blemish is that the disk drive eject button is 'loose' so it sort of floats in the hole. It works just fine, but it will wiggle around (a common problem I'm told). The battery has also been removed so time isn't kept. It must have leaked at one point, but it didn't damage the motherboard. I figure that since I don't use it like I should, it should go to someone who might get more use out of it.

Not sure what to ask for it, my only point of reference on prices is Ebay and you can never trust those. So if someone can clue me in on what to ask I'd be grateful. I might consider trading it for a nice iMac/Mac Mini of some sort as long as they were of equal value and somewhat current.

I'm located in the US and this is a US/NTSC model 3000. I don't mind shipping overseas, but it will probably be expensive.

I'll take some pictures of the unit tonight, but here's a picture from my gameroom that shows it: http://atariprotos.com/temp/gameroom_2019_new_8.jpg

Are you on Facebook? You could post it on the Commodore Amiga group. Or if you want I can pass it on there? Many in the US are looking for one since they are hard to ship from Europe. I own 2 myself.

Thinking About Selling My Amiga 3000 (US)

Best to look at “sold” prices on eBay that will give you a rough idea of pricing what they actually go for.

Also check Amibay.com for there prices

remember you can also sell it here just make the rules of you sale clear i.e. if you are

willing to post worldwide or only locally or if it is collection only and the Payment method you prefer.

I think you will get lots of interest, that’s a nice looking system

Anyway good luck with your sale

Must add that’s a nice man cave setup

Yes I am. I think I just applied for membership in that group, but it hasn't been approved yet.

Ebay seems to say $800-$1000 depending on the day and what is all included. Didn't think about Amibay, I haven't been on there in years. Thanks for the idea.

Yes I'm willing to ship worldwide, but I imagine shipping would be expensive as I'd have to pack it really well. Paypal is always the best way to handle stuff like this I think.

Do you have real Kickstart ROMs?I believe you do. You seem to have too much free chip RAM for it to be Kickstart 1.4 which loads the KS from the HDD as it uses 512K ChipRAM for Kickstart (But I could be wrong)

Yes I believe I do, but I can check tonight to make sure.

On a related note, the lower Fast RAM is because I have one giant 4GB partition which is using up a bunch of the spare RAM (I think it's 1MB per GB). Since I have the system maxed out at 16MB I didn't see a problem with it.

Do you know how long it takes for them to approve membership? Most groups it's a few hours or day. Maybe the mods are just busy?

Which group are we talking about? There's several of them. Is this one I'm not part of yet either?

The main Commodore Amiga group. They approved my membership about 2 minutes after I posted that.

In photo 4 on the top shelf. What is the red teddy bear next to the blue Atari logo? What is that blue Atari logo?

What was the red teddy bear on the top shelf photo 5. It looks like something from a 8bit game but I don’t know what.

The buyer is on this forum? And was it a 25mhz model?

Thankfully the superkick image goes into the end of motherboard Fast RAM if you have some.
