Aridane network setup

Spent a deal of hours trying to get my A2000 with a GVP G-Force 030 (8 MB)accelerator and a GVP 4000 HC+8 (8mb).

I have used this guide to install amiTCP 3.0b .

I have changed the values to fit my setup, as I for example use aridane.device in Devs:Networks.

I also, on the basis of readme in the driver package downloaded from aminet, added a file called aridane0.config in Prefs:Env-Archive/Sana2. The file contains 10BASET (also tried "10BASET") but appears to make no difference.

I also tried without this file, as with a AridaneII, some have gotten it working by removing a similar file.

For me, it has made no difference.

Another thing probably worth mentioning is that there is 4 leds on the card, and from the back of the Amiga, the first on is off, 2 and 4 is constantly on, and 3 is blinking as is typical when connecting a cable to a network card.

My system is a bit odd in that it takes some time to get it started, and then it springs to life. I use the on board SCSI with a Gururom adapter on the G-Force.

I have Kickstart 3.1.

When booting into WB 3.1 I get a AmiTCP Log telling me that "[err ]: OpenDevice: Device or unit failed to open"

I tried to ping, but nothing apart from localhost(127.0.0.1) works.

I am a little short on ideas that I can try to make this work.

There is a diagnosis program on the Ariadne install disk.

I have tried that, and it detects something, but most values is 0 from the quick look I did.
