How "Brick Games" and "Game' n' Watches" works
I love the simplicity of these games and I kept playing them only to see what its designers tried to do to overcome the weak techonology of them.
![]() Anyone have any clue of how they are done, for example, how they generate the sound, for example, if its 2 or 4 bit sound and how they generate the waveforms? And how the LCD works, if its kept a register file or I/O ports of flags, one for each sprite? Or for example, if the Brick Games dispose a framebuffer for the programmer, and if its readable or its simply opaque... I have so many questions... Please, please, anyone have the answers? ![]() |

I have no answers, but I would start by checking around the stuff at Madrigal's simulators website:
http://www.madrigaldesign.it/sim/news.php Perhaps among the links there are some sites that could prove useful. |
