Denis,

I agree that BarryB's version has a protection track that looks to be broken. My decoder does not recognize it either.

But, looking at the Official IPF of Ultima IV the protection track data is near identical to Moebius, Ultima 3, and the others. The Ultima IV disk name "XELOK-1V2-SIG1" matches the others as well.

I was trying to find the protection check within the code for Ultima IV using the official IPF, but have not been able to locate any protection check as of yet.

Out of curiosity what does the Official IPF decoder see the other games (Moebius, Impact, XR-35, Ultima III, Times of Lore) as?

Different versions of Grid Start have different protections and one version uses xelok.

You get a point.Indeed the disk shows XELOK-1V2-SIG1.

So yes if both protection are the same, then let it be.

@BarryB : Can you please fix your disk, and redump track 0.1 please ?

Ultima III use the same protection as Ultima IV (i checked that yesterday).

I have not checked the other titles.

As BarryB mentioned we are not the same person. I just contribute to Keir's disk-analyse project.

Eventually, I will more than likely go back to working on WHDLoad installs.

More PROTEC formats from Abaddon so now my copy of Silent Service decodes as PROTEC 0x924a and Dogs of War is now another ALT version of PROTEC (or a rip off of it)
