EAB wiki
I see over at the Atari Forum they have installed a wiki feature. I ask would something like that work over here in the same fashion? Is there even a need for such a thing? I don't know, just a thought.

maybe the faqs cover already more than half the stuff, but me too i think it's a better idea than the bullettin organization, it is clearer.

don't know, not very hard to setup, but it could end in a big mess if nobody overview it.
anyway it could be fun if we define his focus, or not ![]() how many members are interested to participate ? |

How about you start a poll about that? Sorry if you already have, I'm slow with new posts.
![]() Edit: Okay, while I'm at it, I may as well answer. I wouldn't mind looking through and cleaning up a part of it (details to be discussed later ![]() |

As a user I really like MediaWiki. But I have no clue how easy that is to install and suspect it's rather heavy.
Just my two cents. ![]() Edit: Actually has less Prerequisites than I thought. Last edited by eLowar; 14 August 2006 at 23:40. |

Well most decent Wiki software keeps a log of all changes, MediaWiki for example stores changes CVS-style, so you can roll back to any old version if things get messed up. I expect DokuWiki has something similar, too. So that's not all that much of a concern. Although I agree, backups are good.

Mediawiki does not look too difficult to install (been considering using it for work), and it is certainly tried and tested

Yeah, MediaWiki is the heavy duty stuff. And as I said I like the interface very much. On the other hand there's the question whether we really need something that big (I see DokuWiki doesn't even need a database). Depends on how much you intend to wikify I guess and what it will be used for in the future.

Wow, this thread and wiki idea really took off, quite excellent. The wiki can be anything and everything to do with the Amiga. I think every member of the Amiga community can contribute something to its contents.

Note that there is already an Amiga wiki at http://www.amigawiki.com/cgi-bin/wiki.pl. Not updated very often but it has some nice content (that we can use on the EAB wiki too if we use the same license).
