A600 internal floppy drive, says all my disks have bad sectors on 891

Hello, put a new (2nd hand) internal floppy in my A600. All the disks that I put in it, it says that they have bad sectors at 891.

I have throughly cleaned the floppy drive aswell.

Cheers,

This will be the new drive salvaged from that A600 you got at the bootsale, yes?

Have you cleaned it..... You may need to clean the old grease off of the turnscrew and lightly lube with silicone grease - it's the best part of 10-15 years old after all.....

Sounds obvious I know but you'd be surprised.

If you clean it and you still get this error, get yourself a blank floppy and format it. If you then get the error, the drive may be buggered.

If you get no errors, then chances are the drive is out of alignment.

shit, that sounds like either a duff disk (try another) a duff drive, or maybe those chips inside your A600 really are buggered. The only thing I can suggest is that you try that new drive in another Mig and see what happens. Does the new 600 work? If so, try it in there....

Only time I get that error is when I try to format a HD floppy or a baaaaad DD disk
