Issue with an OCS demo!

Hello peeps!

I am trying to figure out the best settings to run a particular OCS demo without any issues, the demo is called Negative FX by Reality.

From what I can tell, the demo runs fine apart from one section that completely slows down.

I have attached a Youtube time link of the demo to show how it should run, the section is at the 2.06min mark.
Has anybody else come across this issue running the latest version of WinUAE?

My config is A500, Cycle exact (full), OCS chipset, 50hz Pal + Monitor (native, Full-window, DX11 Hardware, Vsync) on an i7 6th gen, 8GB mem running Win10 1607.

I tried the demo in WinUAE 4.9.1 64-bit and using the most common A500 quickstart set to best compatibility that part doesn't slow down either windowed or fullscreen.

No issue here either. That part uses interlaced mode though. Is that the only demo where you see a slowdown?

Thanks for the responses.

I tried using the quickstart config + Windowed & full-windowed using DX9 and 11 and I'm getting the same slowdown, it's the section with the rotating vector cube with each side featuring another vector object rotating.

The frame rate slows to almost a slideshow!
Weird.

I've tried a bunch of demos so far and that's the only one that really slowed down

I have a lower spec machine (very much lower) and it's a steady 49/50fps during the whole demo, What sync / slice level are you using?

Also, what version of WinUAE are you on?

Weird, it works here with double line mode. But glad to hear it's working for you now

Eek, Intel integrated...

I'd say to update the driver (if needed) but all I ever hear is how borked the Intel drivers are..

If it's something related to interlaced it probably won't happen in most demos as it'd usually only be enabled for still images. Only one off the top of my head that has a few moving parts in interlace is 3d demo 2 (a transition after a fullscreen image and a scroller).
Glad you got it fixed, but it shouldn't be an issue even with an crappy integrated Intel gfx chip (I have two laptops with similar configurations).

Yeah that's what I thought. I have purposefully stripped back my copy of Windows 10, it's a custom ISO with only the necessary services running with an average of 43 processes, it's really lean.

Everything I throw at WinUAE works beautifully, I mainly use my setup for Octamed + Midi, I have my audio drivers selected for WASAPI EX with my buffer at [MIN]. No issue.

The only problem I encounter is Beamraced, when using my second configuration for gaming and demos, BR gives me slight tearing and trying various slices doesnt resolve it.

Vsync works great.

Yeah I have, unfortunately I'm limited to which version drivers I can install as Im running a pretty old version of Win10.
